Mar del Cabo by Velas Resorts

My fiancé and I had been here in 2024 and this is the only place we’ve visited twice. We wanted to come back because we knew we needed a cozy place to recharge where we could just hang out at the pool with some peace, and some excellent service. We really get along with the staff here, and they go above and beyond to help accommodate your plans or whatever you need to make your time special. I would like to personally thank Omar, Sebastian, and Ufracia for their wonderful company and charm. It was lovely to see them again and we were so touched by how they remembered so much about us. They truly care about their job and they bring such a bright energy to the resort. I also wanted to thank the concierge staff who helped me plan an on-site, romantic morning of star gazing. The resort is so well cared for and is such a lovely place to hang out for days, the greenery and flowers are so comforting and cooling, the rooms are so well cared for, and the architecture is such a careful organization that treats the guests to convenience and bliss. I have to mention the kitchen staff, who have created a menu that has a little bit for everyone. They’re so accommodating and the ingredients they use are of high quality. Their cocktails are amazing, and you will definitely enjoy their margarita selection with some guac and chips by the pool (it comes with a chicharon!). My fiancé and I talked about how great it would be to plan our wedding here; due to family members availability we have to plan it in Ireland, but we are fierce tempted to drug my mum-in-law to get her on the plane over there. If you are planning a small to medium, resort style wedding, definitely contact them with your questions. You would probably have the best wedding of your social sphere. This is an old hotel that was taken over by the VELAS group. It’s between the Grand VELAS and the VELAS Boutique. It’s been cheaply renovated by VELAS, think Day’s Inn for furnishings. And as in previous reviews, there are LOt’S of stairs down to the beach and the one restaurant especially if you have a high room as we did. The outside of the property needs work. Paint, power washing etc. it is on the beach and the pool area is quite nice. We had the place to ourselves for a couple of days and as a result they have reduced staff. Everyone is very nice as in most resorts in the Cabo area but? We were taken to our room promptly with no explanation as to the room amenities etc. I had to call on night 2 because they advise turn down service but no one came. It’s a bit if a haul into CSJ and the Ubers charge extra on weekends. 20% off on dinners at the VELAS restaurants next door but they are all inclusive so you never know what you are paying. The restaurant has a really limited dinner menu….they want you to head next door. Our room had an ok view overlooking the ocean, but a decrepit lot with an abandoned house and ragged palm trees. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean, maid service was prompt and efficient. The breakfast was generous as well. I predict the VELAS group will buy the lot next door knock it all down and build another all inclusive property to add to the VELAS Group. Overall, way

An absolutely stunning and intimate resort. The perfect size, setup, and beautiful design for a peaceful long weekend relaxation trip! We spent 4 days at Mar Del Cabo and enjoyed every minute, and every bite. The restaurant might be the highlight of the property as its open-air design and canopy roof seem to draw a nice cool breeze & shade during hot Cabo summer days, set to the sound of the ocean in the background. And the food was delicious, though the breakfast & lunch menus feature more interesting options than the dinner menu that had surprisingly few Mexican cuisine options compared to its early-day counterparts. Miguel, Rosaura, Alberto, and Sergio all took exceptional care of us and added a meaningful personal touch to our stay. We will be back and cannot wait!

Mar del Cabo was beyond exceptional. My daughter saw photos on an Instagram site and knew it was perfect for her wedding. June was off season so it was like staying at private boutique hotel for the 38 guests. The suite style rooms were lovely. The staff from the moment you pull up were so friendly. The food was outstanding. Miguel and Sergio were top notch at customer service and saw to everyone’s needs. Andres, Velas resorts wedding planner, was so easy to work with, and saw to every little detail. Their wedding was magical and Mar del Cabo outdid themselves!!!

The service was amazing The waiters and waitresses at the cafe and everyone working at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The atmosphere and setting with full blooming bougonvillas everywhere was magical. The 200 word minimum requirement for this review is annoying!

Grounds were beautiful, service was outstanding, views were breathtaking, food was excellent. Would absolutely stay here again!
