Aguamar Apartamentos, Los Cristianos Downtown

We stayed for 3 nights. We had researched and knew there was no air con, only ceiling fans, but thought for 3 nights we could live without. Our main aims for this trip was location and price - and you get what you pay for. Room is basic, but clean. Everything worked. Quite small (1 bed apt) so would say max of 3 people due to lack of storage and the fact that with no air con, more people = more heat! TV is small but got English channels, however didn’t really have it on as spent more time out than in. Pool and pool area feels very small for the number of apartments, would hate to imagine how busy it would be in July / August. Have to rent cushions for the loungers and umbrellas (€3 p/cushion / €3.5 p/umbrella) which would be annoying if staying for a week or 2. We didn’t use the WiFi as have good mobile contracts which worked out cheaper. Again, would be different if staying for longer. All Staff we encountered were super helpful - we had an issue with the lock for our room when coming back one evening at midnight - night porter got us in and arranged for the problem to be sorted the next morning without us needing to ask. One staff exception - the so called ‘lifeguard’ spends his entire time in the little hut so would not want to have to rely on him to do anything to actually keep people safe around the pool. Didn’t eat dinner in the hotel so can’t comment on the food. Drinks seemed a bit more expensive than bars / restaurants nearby as you’d expect. There is a Chinese supermarket opposite so we popped over there for drinks as was a 2 minute walk. There is a dialprix in the Pasarela centre round the corner if you want to do a bigger shop. All in all it was fine for what we wanted, however we did do our research so know the shortfalls beforehand. You get what you pay for so if you want a better experience, pay more and go somewhere else.

Not the family hotel we thought. Very very noisy drunk teens above and beside us the whole 9 days - loud noise, banging, screaming, music loud til all hours, chairs scraping along floor. Hardly any sleep - our first holiday in 8 years. Extremely disappointed staff couldn’t control after hours to control unruly guests! Only a letter next day - they need a solution have they party goers on one side of hotel or sign a paper respecting other guests of noise - as a family we didn’t want to be up all night - we did have to go down on our last night 2:30am before our departure flight to get security involved!!! Not Fun & extremely frustrating as a family who had paid for excursions throughout to explore beautiful Tenerife were very tired …. No wifi in rooms only free by pool side bar. & no air conditioning only fans- so if the balcony doors were open at nighttime- more” Noise”. Although, housekeeping always had a smile & staff were ‘trying’ to help place was very clean. Although Aguamar couldn’t guarantee no noise if we moved rooms which would have used half a day of our holiday to wait for checkout to find another room & get cleaned. Shame it had to all happen in the first place. Holidays aren’t cheap! Good sized rooms with balcony but can be overlooked by other guests ( drunk teens ) 1st floor. It ruined it for us. Won’t be back. EasyJet holidays have been informed! June 2025.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a lovely relaxing break - just what we wanted. Originally booked a 1 bed apartment but when we arrived we were upgraded to a 2 bed. First time I've ever had an upgrade and it was greatly appreciated as it meant I didn't have to sleep on the lounge sofa bed! Apartment was very spacious. Open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. Cutlery, plates, glasses, cups etc all included. Bedrooms were a good size with wardrobe space, bedside cube tables and a long shelf with stool and mirror. Also had a ceiling fan, which can be noisy but as I always wear earplugs on holiday wasn't an issue for me. Road noise was noticeable occasionally though even with the earplugs! Bathroom was ok - hairdryer included and nice shower. Balcony over the pool area was a good size too with table, chairs and clothes dryer. We went half board. We were perfectly happy with the food - it was really nice, although maybe some would prefer more choice. There was a bar/cafe area by the pool which served a good range of meals and snacks for lunchtime. The staff were all fantastic - everyone very helpful and friendly. One thing I really liked was they didn't put sunloungers out until 10am - so people couldn't leave towels down at dawn! We all waited patiently for them to be put out and then just claimed ones we wanted. Lounger mats (Euro3) and parasol (Euro3.50) were extra but we were happy to pay for the mats to be more comfortable. Pool was good too. Kids were allowed to play with balls and inflatables - unlike other places we have visited in the past. Checkout was midday. There is a nice shower room you can use for free if you have a late flight. It was a 20 min walk to the beach area. Beach was really nice - again loungers and parasols were extra (Euro9 for 2 beds and a parasol). Overall we were very happy with our stay. We wanted a chilled out few days in the sun and that's exactly what we got. Don't normally go back to the same hotel twice but it's a good possibility that we'll come here again :)
