Latica Lodge

Latica lodge might be one of my new favourite places on earth. It is an oasis of peace nested in the middle of Guanacaste. I came for a flying trapeze retreat fully concentrated on the training, but as soon as we arrived I was blown away by the beauty of the lodge. The design of every area is very intentional and blends well with the nature surrounding the lodge. The common areas are very comfortable and perfect for both socialising with the other guests or enjoying some self-reflection time. The rooms are also very comfortable and spacious (both the private room and shared rooms). The showstopper is definitely the pool, designed to look like a river and the best place to spend time in the warmest ours of the day. The flying trapeze rig was wonderfully smooth. However, the best part of Latica are the people who run it. Karin is the most gracious and wonderful host. She made us feel right at home with her warm smile and amazing energy (she also makes perfect margaritas!). Oliver's kindness was the best thing to accompany the morning coffee, while Chef Luca's delicious food kept us well fed throughout the week. The rest of the staff was also wonderful and made the whole Latica experience perfectly smooth. I cannot recommend Latica enough and cannot wait to be back !!

If you’re looking for nature, love and peace, this is it. The place is beautiful and quiet. In the morning you hear the monkeys passing by and at night you don’t hear anything but the animals. The place is a bit hard to enter with the car, so make sure you have a good car. There is a special yoga place and a flying trapeze. The owners are Canadian and really lovely.

Très bel endroit bien situé, juste à 35 minutes de voiture de Tamarindo, et à 20 minutes de marche de Playa Negra où on peut faire du Surf et admirer l’un des plus beaux coucher de soleil. Dans le Latica lodge tout est très bien décoré et avec un goût, l’ambiance Tropicale est super paisible, on peut apprécier la beauté de la nature, la verdure, les chants des oiseaux et même avoir la chance de voir des singes avec leurs bébés ou des gros perroquets colorés. C’est une expérience hors du commun, de voir ces animaux dans leurs milieu naturel! Dans ce paradis Costa Ricain en pleine nature, on peut se détendre dans différents endroits, soit là ou il y a des hamacs soit dans les bassins d’eaux autour de la piscine style jungle ou même dans la grande piscine là où on se rafraîchit en écoutant les cascades d’eaux, les oiseaux qui chantent et surtout bronzer sous soleil. Les chambres sont grandes, très propres et climatisées. Le breakfast et le repas de midi sont consistant et très bons. Chaque soir le Chef Luca fait d’excellent repas et desserts, le dîner est servi dans une ambiance vraiment chaleureuse. Des fois il y’a des groupes qui viennent chanter ou jouer de la musique le soir pour l’animation, que des bons souvenirs autour de la grande table ou autour du feu de bois dans la grande cours. Tout le staff est super gentil, les nouveaux propriétaires du Latica font un excellent service et ils ont même ajouté le côté sportif à cet endroit! Eh oui vous même apprendre les arts du cirque: Trapèze volant, cerceau aérien, pole aérien, tissu, straps, hamac, yoga… la retraite de cirque est coaché par des professionnels dans leurs domaines. Vous allez réveiller l’artiste en vous tout en vous amusant. Je recommande cet endroit magique caché dans la nature et j’ai hâte d’y retourner!
