Barefoot Contessa

Our first visit to Kefalonia and I am so pleased we booked this accommodation. Great location steps from the beach. We stayed in a ground floor apartment with a sea view . It was spotlessly clean with fresh towels every day and bed linen changed frequently. The addition of fly screens on all windows and the door was a bonus. Spiros and his staff staff were lovely, both at the apartments and in Hemingway's. Great food and drinks, always fresh and well presented. The sunbeds are really comfortable and a lovely guy came around and took drinks orders. Really can't fault it and we were so impressed, we are looking to book again.

Our second visit here & there is much to love about it - the cleanliness of the apartment, the wonderful balcony with a panoramic view, the proximity to Lourdas’s beach & restaurants. Just a couple of things would make a difference. There is very little storage space for your clothes & living out of a suitcase is not great when you have paid a lot of money for the accommodation. Underneath the tv in the bedroom is a huge space & could easily fit a chest of drawers which would make all the difference. On 2 occasions our room wasn’t cleaned. The maids knocked the door before 10am & didn’t come back because we didn’t let them in. We are on holiday & want time to wake up & enjoy our breakfast on the balcony. We didn’t expect to be held to a time schedule. In saying that the positives outweigh the negatives & undoubtedly we will be back.

Such an amazing place - back again in September for our third year. Such a warm welcome every time we come back. Nothing is too much trouble and they’re always so glad to welcome you back. Can’t think of anywhere I’d rather stay

Great place to relax on the beach. Close to beach and walking distance to several good restaurants. Nice for a couple of days of doing very little..

Great spot. Handy having the bar/taverna right in front. Host empties the trash and brings fresh towels daily. Only disappointment was that the sun beds shown in the photos are not included with the room rate. Beds in the room left us with a bit of a back ache as well.

The property was perfect for our needs having visited Lourdas a number of times, we know the area well. So close to the beach and local bars and tavernas. The property is very tastefully furnished and extremely clean. Towels changed daily, bins emptied daily and bedding once during our weeks stay. Would definitely, without hesitation, stay here again.
