I go to Lubbock once a month. I typically stay at Courtyard but tried out Residence Inn. The hotel is off the freeway so I asked for a quiet room on the side of the building furthest from the freeway, which was also requested online when booking. Lesa was a front the desk and informed me I was already assigned and she couldn’t do anything. Went to my room and it was the side on the freeway that was noisy. I went back downstairs to ask for a different room because I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep with the noise from past experience. Lesa was so extremely rude and wouldn’t move rooms (this was around 4pm and the parking lot has maybe 15 cars in it…so even if they were booked, those rooms hadn’t been checked in…this was a Monday night). She would rather lose business and have me go elsewhere (which I did) then accommodate and move rooms. When I checked in at the other hotel, I explained the story of what happened at Residence Inn. They accommodated me with a quiet room and also told me they know Lesa from the industry and said that she is extremely rude and not accommodating and were so sorry I had to deal with her. Furthermore, the next morning I went to pickup my coworker (who ended up staying at the residence after I left for the hotel next door). She got a coffee in the breakfast area and as she was putting on the lid the coffee spilled everywhere. We both were cleaning it up and alerted the attendant of the spill because a mop would be needed. Instead of saying “it’s ok”, “I’ve got it”, “thanks for helping clean it up”…we got no words except her throwing her head back with her hands to her head then shaking her head as if it was the worst thing that happened to her. Needless to say, this is our last experience at the residence inn. Do better, work on your customer service.
