This was our second visit to Foxhills, we re booked as our First visit was lovely. However this visit not so much. We had issues trying to book the room as the system kept having an error, I then secured the room, booked dinner and paid, however I was still unable to book any treatments prior to arriving. We arrived late, but had called ahead to advise and staff were amazing, very helpful. We were taken to our room in the newly refurbished lodge, however upon entering the heat was unbearable, the thermostat was reading 29.9 at 11pm at night. I opened all the windows and the Balcony door to reduce the heat that had stored up throughout the day. I then tried using the in room system to call reception, this didn't work as no Wifi......., that meant the TV couldn't link to our phone either. I called reception from my mobile and explained the heating must be on as it was unbearable and the heat was not reducing in the room. Lovely young man arrived and stated he would try and sort, he took the lock off the thermostat and set it to 17, fingers crossed we settled in for the night in the hope everything would cool down. By the morning, we had tossed and turned all night, my husband hadn't really slept and i was sweating....... My husband had to leave for a competition so I said I would deal with the heating issue when i went for breakfast. Apparently the room is a sun trap and hence the heat.....I explained if that was the case, it should have cooled down throughout the night as the door was wide open all night and the thermostat and temp in the room would have changed. They assured me there was no heating on in the property but they would move us, we were grateful of this and understand that as the rooms do not have air con we can not expect a chilled room, however a 29.9 degrees room is not acceptable. We were then moved to a suite over looking the pool which was lovely also, still warm, but much more manageable and it was a warm day and all the windows were closed. I opened the windows and the temp started to fall. Unable to book a spa treatment prior to arriving I was lucky enough to grab the last appointment on the day and have a lovely Elemis facial. Which was faultless. The staff are lovely and could not be more helpful but there are some issues with the heating in the building. My last comment is, after 11am you CAN NOT work within the grounds or hotel, there is a NO LAPTOP policy, you can go to the half way house, which is not staffed, has no music or vibe about it and is uncomfortable. Even as a hotel guest I was not allowed to work other than my room or the half way house. I appreciate that several people pitch up, take up a table and order one coffee which lasts 5 hrs, however I was there as a hotel guest, I was planning on eating and drinking throughout the day. I would have happily been told there was a minimum spend if needed. Instead I had to get an Uber to Burhill Golf Club (£26) and pitch up there for the afternoon whe
