Visama Mae Chan

One of the best resorts we stayed in ever!! This glamping resort is amazing - excellent food in outdoor dining, tranquil pool and beautiful grounds - plus the staff go out of their way to serve you. The "tents" are beautiful with netting around your bed. Never saw a bug, etc. the whole three nights. Highly recommend!!

Get connected with your inner child and love of nature all in one place. Visama LUXURY tented camps is nestled in the Mae Chan foothills in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand. Each tent is seriously glam with high thread count sheets, fluffy pillows and duvets for chilly nights, AC for hotter afternoons - even outdoor private bathtubs, with bubble bath bombs. Locally crafted furnishings make for a well appointed peaceful decor. This is my kind of camping, or glamping! We stayed in Lahu tent 10 - a spacious one bedroom with celadon bathroom tiles and a huge outdoor deck overlooking rice paddys and bamboo forest and mountains. Mini bar, room service, and morning French pressed coffee got us going each morning. We had massages, swam in the stunningly beautiful pool, rode bikes and enjoyed a BBQ and movie on the giant “drive-in sized“ movie screen by the Ambalama firepit. It was magical. Service is top notch (and actually better than the Four Seasons up the road.) Roo Du Gaan restaurant served us delicious Thai specialties and, for some in group tired of Thai food, best burgers outside USA! Have now stayed here several times - it just keeps getting better. I’ll be back next year. Only 10 tents so DO book early as they fill up. If you’re looking for a boutique intimate quiet clean special place to recharge and refresh Visama Mae Chan is your place!!

This is a fantastic resort! It is beautiful with very comfortable beds and a very relaxing property. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is delicious. We went on a beautiful guided bike ride and so much fun. I would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and relaxing stay!

Wunderschönes Resort, ruhig mitten in der Natur, schöne und ganz besondere Unterkünfte. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, feines Essen und herzliche Bedienung. Man kann sich sehr gut euund sich verwöhnen lassen, oder Ausfüge in Richtung goldenes Dreieck unternehmen. Wir können das Resort sehr empfehlen.

Our stay was very enjoyable; fantastic location, great food and amazing service. The room was beautiful and we loved the natural materials and colours in the room. It had its own private terrace where we were served dinner surrounded by the sounds of the evening, a real camping vibe without any of the disadvantages.

Absolutely outstanding from beginning to end. It's the perfect combination of beautifully crafted accommodation, a stunning location, classy dining and thoughtful details - all wrapped together by the best team of people you could hope for. The staff really do deserve a special mention as you can tell they get real pleasure from making sure their customers are happy and have everything they need. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The attention to detail is wonderful and appreciated, including... little treats upon arrival, cool towels available at every turn, small gifts on the bed at night and freshly made cookies when we left for the airport. The Visama team kindly arranged two trips for us (one to see the elephants and one to Mae Sai on the Myanmar border & a local tea plantation), both of which we'd highly recommended. This is quite a new resort and we feel very lucky to have been able to spend time there. It deserves to be a huge success.
