Pool ok but facilities a littlw dated

The room was dark dirty & tired .. it was like a basement room with a small window . We went for a spa day experience . There were no white robes … and we had to ask for towels at the pool they were not readily available We were told the hotel had been refurbished This was not the case . The outside pool area has dangerous with uneven patio stones & with weeds ! The pool wasn’t clean & there was cigarette ends and broken glass under the sun chair I was sat on Will not be returning!

AVOID. We had already read the poor reviews but as this was a gift we thought we’d go for it, surely it can’t be that bad it’s a 4* rating ??? It was awful . Looks like no investment in the last 10 years. I do feel sorry for the younger members of staff who were cheerful but my god they must have so many complaints . Our room was ‘manky’ . Dark room so opened curtains a to filthy ground floor window , curtains a coming off rail . Cobwebs . Mouldy shower curtain. Cupboard door hanging off hinge to “Mini bar “… but no mini bar inside . Stained walls & dodgy sockets . Stained carpet like old red wine stains & hate to think what other stains were !! Furniture probably +20 years old . Another guest checked out after arrival & seeing 3 rooms . Spa area dirty , broken glass left on floor adjacent to sun beds . Dinner ? 4 starters (tacos sorry not available down to 3). 5 mains (sorry sirloin steak not available down to 4) . 4 desserts (sorry cheeseboard not available down to 3). This was at 7.30pm!!! The hotel is down the road from Maidenhead town centre why not go get these popular items ! ??). Breakfast (sorry 2 eggs dishes not available ). Honestly feels like it’s closing down, if not , how on earth are they surviving ? We were on the verge of checking out but it was only for 1 night so went with it & was out of there by 9am next day. Highlight ? Beautiful Bray visit before & Windsor the day after . Sorry it’s negative but you really do need some serious investment .

Truly an awful spa experience if you can call it that! Spa needs total refurbished, was dirty and unkept. Facilities were broken and not fit for purpose. Clumps of someone else’s hair in the shower and it had not been cleaned in some time. The manager admitted the cleaner had left! Afternoon tea was poor, dry stale sandwiches and our table was in a corridor. Managers don’t seem to care

Absolutely would not recommend this venue for your events. Events staff rude and unable to arrange anything consistently changing their stories agree something with you advising they have availability for events and 15 mins later something completely different and no availability. I would be very cautious about booking your event here as potential to turn up on the day and they will have nothing prepared or deny that you even made the reservation. Lots of other nicer hotels nearby in Windsor and a large choice of restaurants now in Maidenhead. Spa area dated and not particularly hygienic, changing room lockers have broken locks. Give this venue a wide berth.
