We have walked past this hotel so many times and wondered what it would be like. We were not disappointed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the hotel was spotless. The breakfast was fantastic as was the restaurant. We normally eat in the town but this was so good we ate here twice.

From my emails before until I checked out everything with this hotel was amazing. I had the pleasure of staying in a lake front living suite as well as the whirlpool suite. The living suite was large and had a walk out patio. It was quiet with an area with sparkling water and coffee outside the rooms. The whirlpool suite was smaller and noisier as it was right on the beach front but the view and jacuzzi tub were amazing. Breakfast buffet was huge. Dinner was fantastic. Housekeeping kept the room spotless. I even asked for help with a salami I purchased and they took it and cut it up for me. The location can’t be beat - on the lake and also in the heart of the village area. But quite all the same. I loved everything about this hotel.

Third time staying here and second in the junior living suite block (well worth it). Everything amazing as always, beautiful views, great service and breakfasts. In the Junior living suites you have access to a water and coffee machine as well as a private sunbathing area. We enjoyed dinners at Aristotle, Rossovivo, Da Nona Pino and Vidoc. Love a sandwich, small pizza snack from Peter Pan too. Can’t wait to visit again in another couple of years

we stayed at the Castello in the Living Suite. We had a family room for four people which provided more than enough space for the 4 of us.
We also had a great outdoor area with more than enough loungers to sunbathe, and we were 10 yards from the lake. The room itself was spotlessly clean. The housekeeping staff did a great job every day.
The hotel itself is beautifully located on the edge of the lake. The restaurant does excellent food at really good prices and the breakfast buffet is as good as other reviewers have described here. What really stood out was the cleanliness of the hotel and the attentiveness of the staff, and overall attention to detail. Malcesine is beautiful and the lake is beautiful. It's a really good place to spend a week in August. We were often on the Pontoon with the kids or out on the complimentary paddle boards at 8pm in the evening. Pound for pound this is probably the best hotel we have stayed in and we have stayed in hotels all over the world. We would love to visit again.

There is only one negative about Hotel Castello and that is having to leave. I've lost count of the number of times we have stayed there and we are already looking forward to our return. Staying in Hotel Castello is like being in a beautiful painting. The scenery is stunning. The rooms all have wonderful lake views, and they are extremely comfortable . The standard of cleanliness everywhere in the hotel is exceptional. Breakfast is a feast with such a variety of high quality food and the option of freshly cooked eggs and pancakes. The restaurant is top class, food and service are fantastic, with a really great and well priced wine list. It is , in our opinion, the best place to eat in Malcesine. A 2 min stroll takes you to the old town with all its lovely cobble stone alleys and squares. This is a family run hotel and it's evident in the attention to detail given to ensure every aspect of your stay is perfect. There is a wonderful team of people working there , it's so nice to see the same smiling faces each year. Paul, Jamal, Raffaele and Karina provide the best of service in the bar and restaurant . Family Treccani should be very proud of this haven they have created . Looking forward to another stay.

What makes this hotel so successful and so popular? Is it the glorious peaceful position right on the lakeside with views from heaven, whilst still being a few steps away from the centre of the delightful Malcesine? Is it the superb breakfast, the variety and quality of which are the best we have ever experienced anywhere? Is it the restaurant with the delicious food and charming, attentive staff? Is it the fact that there are plenty of sunloungers on the lawn overlooking the lake? Is it the comfort and quality of the rooms, beds and bedlinen and the bathrooms? Is it the helpfulness and friendliness of the reception staff? Is it the impeccable cleanliness of all public rooms and bedrooms? Well yes, all of these things. But the real secret is that this is a family-run hotel and it is run with tremendous passion and fanatical attention to detail. There are constant repairs and improvements and nothing is ever overlooked. Indeed the third generation of the family, the charming Pietro, has now joined the team. All the staff are respected and seem very happy, which is evidenced by the length of stay in their employment. No jobs are too menial for the managers (family members), who turn their hand to whatever needs doing, whilst being charming and attentive to all their guests. The only downside? It is now so popular that it gets booked up very quickly. In fact I think I should be keeping my mouth shut as it may add still further to the difficulty in booking a room! Thank you so much to all concerned for making our holiday so immensely enjoyable. Lindy Springett

Our experience was magical. On arrival we were greeted by reception with a smile and a wonderful welcome. Our room was spotless and very comfortable will a view of the mountains and lake which was breathtaking. The restaurant was super, breakfast catered for everyone. One of our group was gluten intolerant and we ate each night at the restaurant. Good was delicious and we could all enjoy everything on the menu. Wines from the local region were excellent but above all, the warm, friendly staff made this holiday. Without exception, everyone was helpful, welcoming and happy. Highly recommend

Loved this hotel. The location was excellent, lake front but so close to the old town, we didn’t use our car the whole time we was there as everything close by including the ferry stop so explored the lake by boat. Many guests took morning dips in the lake, I dipped my toes which was enough for me. Our room had direct access to the lake which our puppy loved, the breakfast was a very high standard and all the staff were friendly. We stayed in room 5 in the living suites block on the 01st October 2025 and the weather was lovely in the day, jumper needed for the evenings. The price was a little high but worth it.
