Mandawa Kothi

Mandawa Kothi is a fabulous heritage boutique haveli. We stayed for 7 nights to experience an authentic small town, Mandawa. We took the train from Delhi which was fun and the Kothi sent a driver to Churu to collect us which made it very easy. The Haveli is run by a Rajasthani family who have a very good eye for the design and ambience of the place. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful gardens which were lovingly cared. We visited at a time when the flowers were in full bloom and it was gorgeous. There was an abundance of birds including parrots and peacocks. The swimming pool is a real feature of the main garden and was very well maintained. They are both real assets to the property and unlike other havelis in the region. The building itself has a lot of original features and has been beautifully renovated. All of the bedrooms are unique and have original features. We had room 11, set away from the main building. This was wonderful and relaxing as it opened to the garden and pool. The food was delicious with a good menu to choose from including local delicacies. Breakfast was served in the garden which was delightful. There were Indian and Western options. We did a number of activities organised by the Kothi; a tour of Ramgarh, a camel-cart ride, sleeping on the roof and enjoying a local puppet show. Guests should certainly ask what’s available as the experiences and details are excellent. The haveli is a short walk from the market which we walked to most mornings and evenings. The shopkeepers were very friendly with good local prices in the market (the tourist shops were expensive). We really enjoyed the small town experience A great strength of the Kothi is the people who run it. All of the staff were very helpful to us, and kind. The bothers who run the place are very professional but extremely personal too. We felt like family after a week there. We will definitely return to Mandawa Kothi for lots of reasons, but mainly because it feels like home. If you are looking for an authentic Haveli experience in Shekwahati this must be the best!.

Kothi is the luxuries property in town. Piyush who owns the property is an amazing person. He was reachable and arranged all our need way in advance via WhatsApp. We were picked up from Jaipur airport. Rooms were clean and well equipped. Common areas like pool and daybeds were serenity. Incredible property with stunning decor. You are in midst of all what’s happening in town
