Selong Selo Resort and Residences

View: 4.5/5 Villa size: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Maintenance: 2/5 This villa is as big as it looks on their website with amazing view. However, it is quite rundown and needs a refresh, especially the toilet.  The toilet bowl has stains and the overall bathing area are mouldy. I understand we’re in the middle of nature but I would expect better maintenance. Plus the water pressure was low. Maybe it was the rainy season (it rains every evening/overnight), the area is filled with millipedes everywhere, the worst part is that they are in the villa as the doors/sliding doors have gaps. We’re fine if the insects stay outdoors but the millipedes enter our villa every single time and they appear at every creak of the villa. It was tiring trying to keep them out of the villa.  The redeeming factor for the villa is really the view, the Indonesian cuisine at Aura and their prompt service. The view is as amazing as you see on their website, if not more. And they have exceptional food at their restaurant and the service was superb. And yes, there are monkeys in the morning and evenings. The staffs will inform you upon check-in, to lock the doors and avoid eye contact.

The most amazing place we have ever stayed, everything was exceptional. The staff were so friendly, attentive and welcoming. The villa was beyond words - breathtaking view, clean, spacious, air con and comfy beds. We could not have asked for more. The food was also delicious and they catered for my peanut allergy which put me at ease. I could not recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back one day! Would highly recommend selong Belanak beach - it is the nicest on the island. We did a day trip to Kuta but it had nothing on this place. It is such a lovely hidden gem in the jungle, pure paradise.

From start to finish, everything was perfect. Great service and a beautiful place. Also the reastaurant is really good. And the best part: the people who work there. Extremely friendly and helpful. I’d come back in a heartbeat next time I’m in Lombok.

I recently stayed at this resort and had a mixed experience. The service was great —the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, always friendly and eager to help. They also had a WhatsApp channel for guests to contact them and their response time was impressively quick, which made communication very convenient. The location is quite secluded, which offers beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for those looking to disconnect. However, the maintenance of the villa left much to be desired. The villa exterior is in need of a paint job, the villa felt a bit worn, and cleanliness could be improved—towels and bedsheets had visible spots and stains. Additionally, the water pressure was quite weak, and we experienced a temporary issue with hot water. Thankfully, the staff responded quickly and resolved it. Food quality was good, though the selection was somewhat limited. Internet connectivity was intermittent. Overall, while the staff and scenery made the stay enjoyable, the resort could benefit from better upkeep and improved amenities. With some maintenance improvements, it has the potential to be a fantastic getaway.

this is arguably one of the best experiences you can have in Indonesia without being on a private island. the Villas here are really looked after and maintained, nothing would be broken or dated (including charging ports). friendliest staff, yummy food at the restaurant and most of all the views that are offered from the hotel are truly magical. After just one visit this has become the fav place to stay in Lombok. for Surfing needs, there is access to breaks for all levels a short scooter ride (the hotel can arrange for you) away and specially for beginners Selong Belanak Beach has everything you would need - sandy break with plenty white water to play in and green waves to start progressing, without worrying about hitting the reef.

We had the most amazing stay at Selong Selo Resort. Unbeatable views from the villa! The resort got all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay with a fairly well equipped gym. Super friendly staff as well! We stayed for 48 nights and will definitely come back!
