"Swimming pool use for children is limited to 45 min slot and after 4pm! This is not shown anywhere when booking the hotel and a piece of paper is presented to you on arrival! Even their own website does not mention this but advertises a pool and children’s pool on site! We would not have booked this hotel if we had known this in advance!"

"Having stayed at this hotel a few times now I feel as though it is slowly going down hill. The service that they offer is poor, especially at breakfast. We were seated fairly promptly and were not returned to for our breakfast order, we had to find a waiter and place a request with them. My husband commented that his cereal was stale and the yoghurt that I ate tasted off, it was just sat on the side in an open bowl with no cover or attempt to keep it cool. We asked for extra coffee which just didn’t turn up, we had to collect butter for our toast rather than it be delivered to the table. If we were to stay again I would eat else where for breakfast and certainly wouldn’t recommend the hotel breakfast to anyone considering staying there, especially with so many eateries in Marlow. I also found that the male staff only addressed my husband which was rude and disrespectful. Overall the location is the main attraction, the rest is not worth the price."

"Party central. Good location right in the centre of town. Beautiful old beamed inn. Good breakfast. We stayed Friday and Saturday and our room overlooked the high street. Customers sitting at tables on the street below our windows, which we couldn’t open because of the cigarette smoke drifting upwards. Friday night is live band night. Very good band, loud, finished dead on 11pm. Saturday, customers outside chatting and drinking until 2am Sunday morning."

"Booked this place based on some of the reviews. Positives - conveniently located to town centre, onsite parking, decent pub prices for drinks Negatives - stayed on the ground level room No.1, the window was straight onto the road outside, had to keep curtains closed to hide belongings. Smell of damp from the bathroom. TV remote was stolen but no replacement available. Went for breakfast, no menu available, the guy said that their refrigerators had broken down and had to throw a lot of food which did not leave many options. We went for scrambled egg on toast, very basic and cheap bread. Wont return here, it needs a good refurb and we’ve stayed in much nicer places for the same price!"

"Not good staff not very friendly waited 4mins to be seated even though there were only 4 table used. Once seated I noticed under a table opposite half eaten Yorkshire pudding from Sunday this was Tuesday also when the sun shined through the window you could see that the floor under the table was filthy. I expected better"

"Cold on arrival at 8pm Booking system allocated a accessibility room we had not booked and then said it was as we had booked late. Yet our group had booked several rooms after us. Not informed of this change Staff unhelpful and not willing to change rooms next morning even though other guests had not arrived and could have been a quick swap. Shower absolutely useless with no power/ pressure at all and pointless complaining as no one willing to help. Lack of breakfast items on 1st morning and second morning items cold. Offered discount for another stay but why would anyone want to return to such a dreadful place !"

"Friendly welcome. The pub itself is a little tired. Our room was pleasant and clean. Bed a little lumpy. Breakfast cooked to order. Sadly our room was above the bar, and the night we stayed music was played really loudly until about 1:30am! Did ruin the stay!"

"Can't fault the accommodation. Beautifully decorated, quirky room with all the facilities you need. Air conditioning was a very welcome addition with the recent heatwave. Superbly located with only a few strides needed to all the bars and restaurants that the beautiful Marlow has to offer. We both gave it 10/10! Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again."

"We didn’t know that we could stay here and use the facilities throughout the place. The sport centre hod basic room but as it was a disabled room, it was larger than usual. The room had good WiFi as we needed to work here. The breakfast hall reminded me of school dinner hall and self service breakfast was part of the cheap room rate. There are no restaurant, just a cafe for lunch and dinner. Choices were limited, so we drove to the kebab van instead! This place was cheaper than the holiday inn and we vowed to never stay at the awful Travelodge, so this was the best choice available."
