Marmaris Alkan Hotel

3rd year staying at the alkan and can honestly say wouldnt stay anyway else, the rooms are dated but clean,cleaned ever day and fresh towels everyday bedding changed every 3rd day and cleaners are amazing sehat was our cleaner and she is lovely. Breakfast is good and has something for everyone It has a lovely large pool and has just had new sunbeds delivered so hopefully the next thing will be new parasols...no sunbed wars. The staff are excellent and friendly nothings to much trouble and any problems are delt with promptly. Its a very relaxed atmosphere perfect if your like us and just want to chill and relax Special thanks to fatoş,nuri,mehmet and the rest of the staff for making us feel so welcome ....hope to see you again this year Linda x

Recently spent a week at the alkan & wouldn't return we were unfortunately put at the front of the hotel ( looking out onto the busy main rd) first floor right above the noisy bar /restaurant below - they play loud music till 12pm our room had a ' juliet' balcony & was single Glazed so very noisy. The best rooms in this hotel are at the rear and overlook the nice swimming pool area. There is ONE lift in the hotel & some guests told me it can take ages to get the lift down from the higher floors ( particularly at breakfast time) breakfast is continental & very basic no orange juice, no pastries / croissants I ate eggs on toast for 6 days on the trot , no baked beans - there is small sausages me & my partner didn't like them, there is salad , cheese , cold meats etc. Back to our room - it had a new air con unit but two single beds pushed together with a double mattress that fell 8 inches short ( and very hard) ... security safe is £ 20 per week, room and bathroom were cleaned to a good standard so no complaints there. Pool area is nice with new sunbeds but the guy running the bar only took cash and charged 200 lira more than the price list for 2 beers ! The pool bar closes at 6pm along with the pool - their is no where else to get a drink of any kind in the hotel after this... The beach is about a 5 minute walk away , the dual caraige way outside gets very busy during the day & you have to keep your wits about you... In summary this is a very basic hotel with few facilities, staff are friendly enough it might be ok for some but we won't return.

Stayed at the Alkan for a week with family. This hotel is spotless and so close to everything. All of the staff are so friendly, from the cleaners to the reception and bar staff. Was our 2nd visit and will definitely be visiting again. Thanks for a great stay :)

Wouldn't recommend this hotel. The bed was like laying on a wooden board with 1 thin rough throw for a cover. there was no water bottles provided in the room, no kettle or tea,coffee facilities. Been in 2 star to 5 star hotels and never come across this before ever. Pool was freezing cold To use the safe deposit they charge you £20 which you don't get back. You're not allowed to bring in water or food from the outside shops, you have to buy it from them. Reception the people who run it can speak English but haven't a clue what you're asking for! (Understand what you're asking for) We were extremely disappointed with the hotel as an expensive pair of trainers went missing and the management basically said that we'd never had them, told him to walk home in his bare feet, my partner had to come back home in flip flops, the only people who went in the room was ourselves and the hotel staff. So I'll leave it at that. Toilet was broken and wouldn't stop running, flush fell out.

Bad start power cut 02.00 and was locked out no generator and glass front doors shut ! Breakfast decent selection and included. Nice and quite suits me , very sad no English news or any programme…rooms dated but functional.. wouldn’t rebook
