"Nicely refurbished hotel with a pool a short drive up the hill from Martigues with a forest behind it you could walk or run in. The staff / proprietor were welcoming and friendly and took time to chat to me and answer questions I had or recommend things to do or see either in or around Martigues. It had a feeling of being quiet and just enough out of the way to be private and not overly busy (I went at the beginning of August). My room was large (one of the larger hotel rooms I have stayed in) and had its own kitchenette with a hob, sink and fridge - Ideal if you like cooking while on holiday (not me, I prefer eating out) or storing bottles of water in the cool. The bed was comfortable. There was a smart TV which I didn't use (nice touch for those who watch TV while on holiday, which is not me), the bathroom was just the right size. The pool area was tastefully designed and decorated. Great to have a private pool to chill out in and around listening to the cicadas. It was very good quality for a reasonable price."

"After spending a night at this Kyriad hotel, I was very surprised by its standard: dirty walls (more brown than white), dust everywhere, moldy grout in the bathroom, the air conditioning was incredibly noisy (unusable), and the bedding was worn out. This room needs a complete renovation. The breakfast was standard."

"Old building, in need of renovation. Shower door jammed for a day, blind torn, air conditioning missing its diffuser panel, peeling paint on furniture, walls, and other surfaces, sink poorly secured and about to fall, shower door unlocked with a screwdriver, lock jammed, door no longer closes, no privacy, shower head holder missing, multiple stains on the mattress, parking gate broken, no security against theft. I will never return."

"The surrounding environment is very good, very close to the train station. Downstairs is the harbor, and you can watch jellyfish at close range. There is also a restaurant on board the Elizabeth. The downside is that the standard room is too small and the bed is too small. The two people lived very crowded. The price is still so high."

"This place though not very fancy is very welcoming. The place is run by a small staff but they accomodate most of your demands. The rooms are well appointed except the washrooms which could have been a bit more spacious. The hotel lacks an elevator and for some it might be a deal breaker. The hotel has a heated pool and the same is well maintained. Food options are limited but well made and cooked to your taste. Overall I will say it's a cozy place which places the guest first."

"I could put up with a poor location… there’s nothing near by. I could put up with the rubbish breakfast, cold food only, despite advertised otherwise. I could put up with time bloody rooms that means I can only open my suitcase in the corridoor. But when we organise to watch the rugby in the back room with a projector using our own feed etc and are going to pay your for it. The. you only tell us 5 mins before the game your boss said no and we can go somewhere else. Well you can decide yourself what I think of your sub par rubbish standard establishment. Rude and poor quality, nothing near by. Go elsewhere"
