Hotel Iaccarino

Lovely large room with a beautiful view. Staff all lovely and very helpful. The free shuttle bus was fantastic and did everything to accommodate your wishes. Driver was fantastic too. The hotel setting is 10/10. However the low score was due to the food. It was very very disappointing. Breakfast was hit and miss. A lot of the time eggs/bacon etc were cold. Toaster did not toast well at all, it either burnt or wasn’t toasted. I waited for bacon to come out of the kitchen and when it arrived it was cold. We in the end after giving it a go ate out. One night we did not have a choice of food and I asked why and they said they had music on. Not sure of the relevance unless it’s down to cost. This hotel could be fantastic but they need to sort the kitchen out. The food was tasteless,cold or too dried up to eat. I would love to give 10/10 but food is very important on holiday and being in Italy I did not expect this.

I can highly recommend this lovely hotel. Although it's up in the hills from Sorrento, the village location was ideal for local shops and cafes which I appreciated. You can walk to Sorrento via a steep cobbled (but marked) path which takes about 45 minutes or use the free shuttle to town with the last one leaving at 11 AM and the first one back at 4:20 PM. Most tours originate in Sorrento but ask at the hotel desk to book one that will pick you up at the hotel! My room was immaculate with good quality linens and towels and a comfortable bed. The room and hotel were spotlessly clean. Keep in mind there are a lot of stairs. You will get your steps in! The only suggestions I could add would be tea/coffee making set up in the room for those early morning cups. Oh and food could be improved. A margherita pizza should taste of Napoli not a supermarcado :) But what I will remember most about my visit was the hotel staff. From the front desk, to housekeeping, to the dining room - everyone was delightful, helpful and generous with their time. I can't rate them highly enough. Grazie!
