"Beautiful beachfront property. You can see the ocean while you are in bed because the rooms are elevated, giving you a beautiful view of the cliff, tropical surroundings, and ocean. The rooms are boho-inspired ocean-view rooms. My rooms also have an outdoor bathtub with an ocean view. It was worth the money, especially as we stayed during the off-season. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. The only noise you hear is the sound of the beach waves, which is exactly why we came. Amenities are limited because this is a co-living concept, but you still have everything you need for a long stay: a shared kitchen, washing machine, working desk, high-back chair for work, a small shop inside, and a good coffee machine."

"We stayed here for 10 days over Easter this year, as a family of 4 with two teenage kids. We were looking for rest, sun and good food. This hotel is in a perfect location on the most beautiful beach. A 10 minute walk to Turtle Bay, where you can swim with turtles and a quick Tuk Tuk ride to Hiriketika, which has lots of shops and restaurants. The staff at the hotel are wonderful. They are very friendly and kind and breakfast was fresh and delicious. A lovely owner too. 10 out of 10, would recommend."

"This was such a beautiful and tranquil place that had great views of the jungle and even the ocean in the distance. We spent 2 amazing days here just relaxing, enjoying the pool, taking in the scenery and enjoying the scenery. The private villa was very spacious and well decorated and was tucked away so we felt like we were in our own house. The infinity pool has an incredible view and since you are staying at a small boutique place it is not crowded. All the food was prepared from scratch and delicious. I would recommend staying and hope to come back."

"Staying at the Eco Lodge was a wonderful grounding experience, with spectacular views, lovely rooms and great service. The standout experience of our stay there was the unforgettable rainforest experience with Shanta. We had an incredible 3‑hour guided walk through the Sinharaja World Heritage rainforest with Shanta, and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip. His knowledge of the rainforest, its ecosystems, and the huge variety of plants was exceptional — every step came with a fascinating insight. A standout moment was seeing the Ceylon Stone Sucker fish in the rock pools. Shanta guided us safely across the slippery rocks and helped us navigate the steep, muddy sections of the trail with such care and patience. We felt completely supported the whole way.If you want a guide who is knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely passionate about the rainforest, Shanta is the one!"

"We stayed in the luxury 'Dutch style' colonaded main building of four beautifully designed and appointed rooms but could just have easily selected one of the individual villas in the grounds, each with its own distinctive theme to match your mood or preference, be it Japanese influenced, colonial charm or a quirky glass fronted pavilion with its bathroom entirely outdoors. Attention to detail is unsurpassed and Eraeliya is the place to go if you and your partner or a couple of couples really want seclusion and privacy. The only communal aspect of the property is the swimming pool and if you really want to see others you could dine in the garden or overlooking the sea instead of using your own personal space."

"Excellent Nature Retreat with Outstanding Hospitality I stayed at Eco Lodge Sinharaja managed by Aitken Spence Hotels on 6 June and had a truly memorable experience. The location is simply beautiful, surrounded by the lush greenery and peaceful atmosphere of the Sinharaja rain-forest. It is the perfect place to relax, unwind, and connect with nature. The food was excellent, with tasty meals and a good variety of choices throughout our stay. The service was equally impressive. Every staff member was warm, friendly, and attentive, always going the extra mile to ensure guests were comfortable and well looked after. One of the highlights of my stay was the jungle excursion. We had a unique fish-feeding experience in the middle of the forest, which was both relaxing and enjoyable. It was a wonderful way to experience the natural beauty of the area and made the trip even more special. I would like to thank the entire team for their exceptional hospitality and for making our stay such a pleasant one.
