Explorers Retreat Matlock Bath was a unique and fun experience! As a solo traveler, I loved the quirky cabins and the adventurous atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing great tips on local activities. The cabin was clean and cozy, perfect for a solo retreat. The location was stunning, with easy access to beautiful walks and the charming town of Matlock Bath. While the facilities were basic, the overall experience was fantastic. It's a great choice for anyone seeking a bit of adventure and a taste of nature.

Booked the pirate room for my birthday son and he loved so much . Clean toilet, downtown many restaurants and supermarkets. no hesitated to recommend to anyone.

We were two families booked for 3 nights in the pirate rooms. The rooms directly overlooked the park and it was a short distance into the town. I would not recommend Gullivers to anyone with mobility issues; there are steep hills both in the park and to the accommodation. The rooms are big enough and good to have a sink, fridge and microwave. The picnic tables outside meant we could eat together. My children loved the themed rooms too. Some features in the room were a little tired and there was a weird smell in ours that didn’t disappear but in my relatives room all was fine. It was nice to have entertainment. My children really enjoyed this and the host, Lily and another man were patient and fun with them. The receptionists were really kind helping us with plates and cutlery to eat and it was really helpful to be able to use a washing machine as this was a stop on a multi stop holiday. I would recommend it as a fun place to stay.

We stayed in the pirate suit for 3 nights, and what can I say, the most amazing time away. My son is severely autistic and I was amazed at how lovely the staff were towards us. They went out of their way to make it very special and catered to my son’s needs. A special mention for Hannah the onsite manager, the most loveliest woman, she was so friendly and kind. And my son really warmed to her. Because of her, we will definitely be returning! The park itself was really good, there were little to no queues. It is pretty hilly but we didn’t mind! We also met gully which made my sons day. Thank you for making our stay better than we could have imagined. We will see you soon!

It was nicely secluded and quiet, surprising when next to the children's play area, had a great night's sleep.

We returned from a 2-night break at Gulliver’s Matlock Bath in April and stayed in the wizard’s suite. The accommodation is right in the middle of the theme park so great location and access. The room is a bit tired and could do with some TLC but otherwise no complaints. The view from the room of the park (as you're in it) and of Matlock was great. We stayed on the eat, sleep and play package which included evening meals and breakfast. The evening meals were very nice, although there were a few technical issues which meant meals were a bit slow to come. On the 2nd night, staff were a little slow answering requests. The breakfast was a bit limited and could have done with more cereal choices. Having said all of the above the staff were very nice and friendly. My only other comment is that it’s a shame the park doesn’t open until 10:30am, especially for those staying on site. We had finished breakfast by 9am so to wait until 10:30am was a long time. This is why we chose not to visit the theme park on the Sunday morning. The theme park was good and our daughter had a great time. Lots of rides for her age/height!
