In the second day of hotel, we planned out trip to the castle, shopping street, and the Japanese alps area. So we had breakfast early and went to the station to meet our guide. After coming back from the trip, we took taxi again to the hotel. When we booked our trip to the station from the hotel, we realized that the hotel provided frequent trips to and from the station. As we were tired, we went to onsen, which was provided by the hotel. It was a free service or included in the stay, I think. The onsen is located in another big hotel and the bus ride took 30 minutes. There were many people from many hotels going together to the onsen hotel. The onsen was pretty big, two indoor pools and two outdoor pools. We enjoyed the warm water and relaxed. The bus brought us back to the hotel at 9 pm. The hotel gave new towels and other supplies in the door of our room as we didn’t have a cleaning service in the morning. Anyway, the hotel restaurant is good and the free shuttle bus service is exceptional as no reservation was necessary. I will visit this hotel again when we travel to Matsumoto next time.

I stayed here for two days in early April 2026. It is quite near the Matsumoto station and there are ample parking lots for guests that drive. The parking cost 1100¥ per day and offers multiple re-entry. The room was abit dated but big. The air-conditioning wasnt as cold but the hotel staff was very nice to bring extra fan, and due to the cold spring nights, it was still quite comfortable sleeping at night with the windows ajar. The breakfast was normal with limited variety, okay if the price to book with or without breakfast is the same. I must commend the hotel front desk conceige Mr Hisamoto (hope i got his name right), he was super friendly, spoke good english and provided me good recommendations on where to go for sakura viewing. He also provided free onsen passes to another hotel under the same group (there is also free shuttle bus there). All in all excellent service. Will recommend a stay if you are looking for a good hotel near Matsumoto station

It is a pleasure to stay at this hotel because of its cleanliness and the services it provides. Despite the fact that the property is old and needs some renovation, I am still happy to leave a very good review. The hotel provides a free shuttle service to Matsumoto station. Additionally, it offers complimentary onsen access at another hotel, with shuttle bus service included. Hotel guests should make full use of these. Reminder: To ensure your seat at the onsen, please make the reservation by 9am every day. I will stay at this hotel again when I visit Matsumoto next time.

Decent price & appropriate venue with cafe for work and meetings

Buena Vista was perfect from the moment we walked to the entrance. A very friendly, smartly dressed member of staff greeted us and took us to the check in desk which is in a lovely vibrant reception area. We had quite a small room with no shelves but it was comfortable and had an excellent shower. The breakfasts were in a fairly small area, which makes it feel a little crowded, but we always got a table and the food was varied. We tried the buffet one night which had nice food but it was warm rather than hot. We then tried the Chinese restaurant which was excellent - quality food, served by friendly staff for reasonable prices. This hotel is in a great location as it’s only a few minutes from the station. The staff were all excellent - professional and friendly.

Great hotel, shuttle service to the Station but only 9 minutes walk. Breakfast was one of the best i've ever had. My family agrees too. Rooms were small but comfortable.

Quite a grand hotel and we saw various tour groups during our stay here. Location is central and a short walk from the Matsumoto train station. There isn't much to see in Matsumoto itself besides the castle which isn't that big or grand but we used Matsumoto as a base for a day trip to Kamikochi which was beautiful.

The people was amazing, the location is great and the bead is very comfy, is clean and is close to the station also in 2 min there are at 7/11.

Clean with very good facilities, particularly the washing and drying machine which caters for our laundry needs. Breakfast is tasty with various kinds of food. Really appreciate the shuttle bus service to nearby JR station upon check out. Staff is helpful. Excellent hotel during my stay in Japan. Highly recommended.

Good location, spacious room, provide complimentary onsen coupon at another hotel, helpful and friendly staff which is considered excellent. The only area to be improved is the wifi which was not steady. Will choose this hotel again if I visit Matsumoto in the future.

The location is near but consider as far walking from station. It’s very far from the walking streets/ town and castle (approx 1km or slightly more). The bus/ transport couldn’t stop exact to those area hence walking is required. If you wanted to stay close to the station, there’s more better choices which more straight forward locate from the stations. Hotel buena vista just not as straight forward. The staff is just junior inexperience. I have phone data issue and ask for wifi assistance. The wifi in the lobby is so weak that I couldn’t connect. I ended up going back to JR station to get the public wifi to fix my data. Staff just look at me without offering any solutions. But one staff is kind and he stood at the lobby. He handed me the Matsumoto map for my exploring before the 3pm check in. Hey, I expected this is done by the one at the counter not this gentleman who stand at the hotel lobby! When it mentioned hotel buena vista has good cafe etc etc .. it’s actually dated and nothing to shout about. However the perks is to book a slot and visit the sister hotel closer to the mountain with the provided shuttle bus for their onsen facilities. That was top notch !!! Please book it earlier before it’s gone. However the slot available is dinner time. So please consider it.
