Grand Texan Hotel and Convention Center

**Not a Good Experience** My recent stay at Grand Texan was disappointing. The lady at the front desk had zero customer service skills and was completely rude. To make matters worse, she started having her own issues tapping her fingers on the countertop as to say hurry up while I was trying to look up my confirmation code. Additionally, she was watching some kind of creepy satanic video right there in the lobby instead of working. The lobby also smelled like dirty feet and ramen noodles, which was quite unpleasant. This unprofessional behavior made my check-in process frustrating and unpleasant. At the end she just insisted to cancel my reservation and deny me service she told me as I left the door I don't need your business anyway and to that I bit her do and went down the street and gave the next hotel my money.

Wouldn’t be allowed to wait in the lobby for my rental to be ready. Because 30mins wait was too long, checkout was 11 and my rental wasn’t ready till 12. I can’t say how disappointed I was with this stay. Restroom were locked, nothing in room worked. Itchy sheets. Wouldn’t of been that bad, but it’s mid summer and I was put outside with 2 toddlers to wait for my rental for an hour. Very unkind afternoon staff, she also did the same to me the following day when I walked into lobby, I’d say that lady was racist.

Not sure why or what is so "GRAND" about this rinky dink motel... You definitely get what you pay for! Cheap... Yes but that may be the only pro to this place. Due to unfortunate circumstances we HAD to stay here for a week, and even 1st ✅ in the lady was very rude, was telling us we had to turn in a towel to get a new one, we can only have 1 key and be sure it gets returned.... We get to our room at back of property, outside room door. The numbers are so small you have to get right up on them to see them. There was a big RV stationed in the small parking area in front of our room and also a work truck of some kind that had 2 flat tires, obviously had been inoperable for some time. We went in our room and the foul smell slaps you in the face first thing, then you look down at some stained up raggedy old carpet. It was in the 30's outside so we turned on the "heater" to get the room warmed up. The toilet had a sanitized paper across the lid staying it had been cleaned... LIES. The tub was filthy, hair in it that had not been cleaned up from previous guests. Obviously these back rooms are reserved for "workers" and it shows. They are NOT cleaned at all. About an hour had passed and it was still freezing in our room, the "heater" was blowing cold air so I went to tell the front desk and she tried to tell me no no no, look lady it's gonna be freezing temps all week and we are NOT staying in that room. Hesitantly she assigned a new room when she saw I was not gonna back down. Our new room, also in the back of property but in front of a huge parking area was NOT Any better. I've taken pics, didn't take any of first room but take my word for it! This place is a joke! Very dirty, stinks, unsanitary, plumbing needs fixed-we we're without a 🚽toilet for 2 days waiting on someone to fix it. I wrote the date in the dust on the microwave stand it was so thick. The door does not secure or lock and is letting cold air in all around and under it. I was interrogated when I went to lobby to ask for a roll of toilet paper by the guy working, wth?!? I honestly felt like I was being punked. EVERYTHING is closed and under "maintenance". No laundry room, breakfast, nothing close by besides car lots and the interstate... Best bet get back on there and head further down the road and go somewhere safe, clean and worth the money. The health inspector needs to visit this place all the way around, it needs to be condemned until it's fixed and everything is up to standard. They are false advertising on the internet to get people in here only to find out once you check in and it's too late.
