I would have given 5 stars but the stay was made uncomfortable by a xenophobic comment made by the owners. Ms. Ana was kindly explaining to us the things we could do around the city, when we asked her if it was safe to go out at night. She laughed and said that Peruvians don't steal, only Venezuelans do and then asked us "have you had issues with them already?". This is unacceptable behaviour for someone who works in tourism for different reasons: 1. You are setting people up against another group of people, in this case inmogrants and refugees. 2. I doubt Ms. Ana or Mr. Frank know all the Venezuelans in Peru, and while a small group of Venezuelans do steal, kidnap and such (which I'm not denying), the majority of the Venezuelans in Peru and other places are good spirited people who are trying to contribute to the societies they live in while working and keeping out of trouble. 3. Peruvians have also emigrated and faced xenophobia throughout recent history, so I find unbelievable that someone would have so little emphathy and, frankly, lack of education and taste, to make such a comment.
