Montagu Springs Resort

Nice place for family , the hot water pool is definitely a winner. The family really enjoy the swimming and we had a nice peacefull sleep.

The place was smelly and dirty. The furniture was dirty and falling apart. The shower was filthy and the outside not well maintained at all. It was not worth the amount of money we paid. The WiFi could not be accessed and we were given an hour accessibility and thereafter had to purchase data. The best part of the vacation was having access to Avalon Springs at an extra cost. Heard so much about this accommodation and my family and I were very disappointed! Would not recommend to anyone!!!

We stayed in a Large Pletternberg chalet, it is dated and showing its age. 3x of the 4x gas hobs worked and the gas geyser was hit and miss for hot water (Possibly low gas at the chalet, but not a big enough inconvenience for me to complain). Despite this, it was a comfortable chalet for the weekend. The aircon in the chalet lounge area kept the entire chalet nice and cool at all times. We made use of the neighboring Avalon Springs Cafe/Kiosk for dinner on the Friday night and it was pleasant enough, though next time I will opt for a pizza or burger and chips instead of their wraps. But a nice convenience for late arrivals when you are still tired from work and don't want to cook or go back to town to get something. The Avalon Springs swimming pool is no longer a value for money option during your stay. Rather pay for the much cheaper Montagu Springs heated pool (R20 per person per day) and use the savings for something nice to add to the braai. This put a big damper on my Saturday, since I was looking forward to the old pool where we had great memories and fun with our children. The children loved the heated swimming pool of the Montagu Resort itself and all the friends that they made there. This was the saving grace of the weekend after my great disappointment over the historically excellent (Now a waste of money) Avalon Springs pools. Overall, a peaceful and comfortable weekend with the family

Chalets found to be in an unacceptable state of cleanliness. I was dismayed to find that it was not adequately maintained. The bedding and pillows were stained and dirty and I was forced to request clean replacements. Additionally the bathroom facilities were in a state of disrepair with taps were filled with algae and dirt and shower hose was broken and dirty. The couch was torn, dirty, and uncomfortable. Furthermore, I was concerned to discover that the safe in the chalet was out of order, which meant that I was unable to securely store my valuables. According to the security team, the safe had been broken for almost two years, which is a significant security concern. I was expecting a certain level of quality and cleanliness, given the price I paid for my stay. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of my expectations, and I was left feeling disappointed and frustrated. Overall, my stay was unpleasant and not worth the money I paid. Montague Springs is the best ever. My children thoroughly enjoyed themselves at all he facilities. The place in general was clean and front office staff were exceptional. The only downfall here is the cafe, staff were unfriendly and food took forever.

What absolute terrible and unclean container experience it was! Not a chalet at all. Tiny! For R1960 a night I was shocked. Left and found other accommodation elsewhere. 1GB of data per person and non of the extra facilities are included in the price.Would not recommend at all!
