Senda Monteverde Hotel Member of the Cayuga Collection

The property was pretty and the food was good. I was however very disappointed with the spa situation. Upon check in, they provide you with a spa menu for massages, facials, etc. however, there is no spa!!! I booked a massage and was asking questions regarding the spa (location, amenities, etc.) and the front desk kept acting like there was a spa. At the time of my massage I was directed to the “spa” which actually was a multipurpose room that had two massage tables behind a privacy screen. The multipurpose room was surrounded with windows and anyone could access this. There was no spa and no privacy. I canceled the massage immediately because of this and was told I may have to pay a cancelation fee. Thankfully during checkout I didn’t have to but it is very wrong to advertise a spa and act like you have a spa when you do not have a spa.

Out of all my travelling adventures around the world and staying in many hotels this is by far my favourite. What an impressive place to stay. The grounds and cabins are pure sustainable luxury. Each cabin is well stocked with complementary items and is immaculately clean and tidy. I particularly loved the personal note welcoming us to the hotel and the evening service of warming our rooms before we get back, as it can get a bit cold when the sun goes down. The surrounding wildlife is amazing, don’t been surprised to regularly see humming birds, giant butterflies, agouti and coati’s among other species. There are amazing spots placed around the grounds for watching and listening or just to grab some sun. The staff are outstanding and genuinely beautiful people from the reception staff, catering staff, cleaners and ground maintenance staff. So incredibly friendly and helpful. The food has also been outstanding. I really can’t describe how special this place is. I love the ethos and the Cayuga Way. Would 100% recommend this hotel and would love to return one day as it now holds a special place in my heart.

We stayed at three different hotels during our Costa Rican spring break adventure and we all agreed that this was our favorite. It was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds and appreciated their focus on sustainability. Our family stayed in one of the two bedroom suites, which came with many perks including free laundry services, breakfasts, a stocked complementary mini bar and fridge, a bottle of champagne for our anniversary, and hand written notes from the front desk. The meals were some of the best that we had on our trip, and the customer service was wonderful. My children and I attended a bracelet making class, which was lots of fun. Should we return to Monteverde, we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful experience. The rooms are all along a steep hill and have great views. We were given Room 28 Premium King bed which is close to the top of the hill and the views were stunning. The hotel has a number of golf carts and someone can take you up there if you need help. The grounds are beautiful and there are trails behind the property which lead to the Aguti reserve to which the hotel provides free admission. The staff and service was excellent as was the hotel restaurant, El Sapo. Our room also included snacks, drinks, and filtered water. Overall we had a wonderful time and would stay again. It definitely lives up to the hype of being one of the top places to stay in Monteverde.

If I were to nitpick, the bed felt a little too soft for my liking and it took some getting used to the request not to put *any* toilet paper into the toilet. This however seems to be a common thing throughout Monteverde. Overall we had a wonderful time and would stay again. It definitely lives up to the hype of being one of the top places to stay in Monteverde.
