Best Western Monticello

Everything was perfect except the room smelled like stale cigarettes. We think it was from the heating/cooling unit.

Very good and clean

If I could give this hotel a zero stars, I would. I have had great experiences in the past, but this is the last time I will stay at a Best Western after being totally ignored by the manager, Amber. Here's what happened: I have tried for 2 weeks to get in touch with their management after our room flooded with toilet, shower, and sink water in the middle of the night several times. We had to help the overnight desk person haul buckets of dirty water to our shower so that the rug in our room didn't completely flood and ruin our belongings, so at 12:30am, 4am, and 7am we were wide awake with dirty water running into our room. Due to the nasty nature of the water, our shower was filthy and we couldn't use our sink because it was full of water. We had to brush our teeth in the public bathroom and got about 4.5 hours of constantly interrupted sleep before we gave up and left at 8AM. Since I can't add the video, you can see what was happening about every 2 hours in our room if you go to YouTube and search for the video titled, "Best Western Monticello, NY-grey water flooding in my room 8/17" The ON THE GROUND staff that day were very apologetic and nice to us-they told me when we were leaving after we gave up trying to sleep and checked out early that they'd have the manager call us to follow up. Amber not only didn't call to talk with me, but went on vacation three days later and left her fill-in Kat to deal with me. By that point, after being extremely patient waiting for days for a call, I called and was told that they would not refund any of my money but would give me a $50 gift card. That's not only insulting, but doesn't help me address the problem at all being charged for a room that was basically totally unusable for sleeping or relaxing. In addition, I called corporate and they also took several days to get back to me. Very unprofessional management! if you have a problem do not expect anyone to help you there. I hate to be this person posting a terrible review, but this is just an unacceptable situation.

Functional hotel. It is dated however everything worked as needed. Breakfast did the trick. Great for a quick stop over on a trip.

We spent 2 nights at hotel. Very nice, clean, staff was great, and beds comfortable. Breakfast was very good and they served you also. Good selection of food.

The pizza restaurant next door is very good. Front desk staff went out of her way to be helpful. The pool was small and older.

Just what we needed for a two night stay. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was okay. Upkeep of property was okay.

Good hotel, a little overpriced. The bathroom were super small. The staff were extremely helpful. The pool looked dirty, the water was very cloudy. The breakfast was ok at best, wasn't over the top good nor bad. Easy off and on Route 17. Pretty close to NYC. Plenty of parking.

Staff were helpful. Pool was cold. Group of visitors ruined it for us a little, as they occupied every space in the hotel. They put phones on the chairs to keep them occupied. They invaded the breakfast room. You could not walk freely out the main main door as those people pulled up at the entrance and put the bags in and they were at least 10 cars. They were also noisy during night with their kiss yelling and running around. I think staff should have reminded them that they were not the only ones in the hotel
