Lovely quirky hotel, with auction house vibes with the decor keeping its roots. Staff were polite and helpful on check in and out. It is above a bar so only use bar entrance when bar is open, if it’s closed use back fire escape entrance for hotel guests. Room was lovely. We were worried due to reviews but there was nothing to worry about. Bed was comfortable, all things in bedroom were provided tea/coffee toiletries, nice towels, hot power shower, hairdryer, free standing fan and room decor was lovely. There were a few snagging issues like shower screen handle loose but nothing that spoiled the stay. Served breakfast on order. Breakfast was great and in with the price, good quality ingredients. Tasty, hot and fresh. On a Saturday breakfast until 10. Only complaint would be noise from main road outside but because it’s a small town it was quiet after 10pm and through the night. I presume it’s a listed building so it would be hard to change the windows to block out the traffic noise during day. It’s in the heart of Morpeth on the Main Street area so if you want a central hotel you have to live with some noise that comes with the convenience of location. If you want peace and quiet, get a hotel on the outskirts of town. Would recommend and would stay again.

The girls on the bar were lovely, very disappointed with the room, tiolet seat broken, carpet needed hoovering, cigarette burn on sofa, the photos on the website do not represent the room. Very small, no heating in bathroom, no where to put toiletries. We paid £259 for 2 nights, not worth the money, beds not particularly comfy.

Room was fine, had to ask for loo roll as wasn't any, however biggest bug bear was apparently the restaurant had been closed for 7 months but was still advertised as american cuisine served from 4-8, can't believe i was the only person who had booked in with this issue, why was it still advertised as serving food when according to staff it hadn't been open fir 7 months , also £15 to park not mentioned when booking, not the Managers fault as she said she would inform head office, not acceptance to missell

Stayed for one night, last Saturday of January. Booked one of two parking spaces at the rear of the building for £15, there is a left turn through an archway just after you drive past the front of the hotel. Room was comfortable enough however, the toilet was blocked. Went down for breakfast Sunday morning to be told sorry no breakfast on as the gas was off. Strange as the boiler was clearly on with radiators warm. The short experience was just a bit odd, but not many other choices in the centre of town.

Room spotless & comfortable; shower was great. staff were friendly. Unfortunately 50 minute wait for breakfast & pre-ordered food unavailable due to problem with cooker. Parked in leisure centre car park (short walk) locked from 1800 ish until 0800.

We had one of the premium rooms. The one member of staff we saw was nice and welcoming, the bed was comfy and someone obviously had fun decorating. After that it was all quite odd… Fixtures were cheap and not fitted well; the tap twisted about when you tried to use it, the whole disc around the shower controls spun round, the hairdryer kept over heating every few seconds, the only lights in the room were really dim. The main bar / restaurant was shut till 4pm when we checked in and we were told to use the out of hours exit / entrance after 6pm when they would shut again. The out of hours exit was a dark, slippy metal fire escape exiting out the back into some housing court yard. We decided to skip the breakfast between 8-9am and after a luke warm shower in the morning the whole place seemed shut again so we left out the fire escape without seeing anyone. Definitely lots of potential and I wish them well but just too odd for the cost.

Staff were friendly enough but that’s where the good points end I’m afraid. The room had a very bad smell (sweat mixed with eggs), it was noisy with single glazed windows, my friends breakfast had uncooked sausages on it - basically not good. Avoid.

Starting with the staff, they were very good. The young lady who checked us in was great at explaining everything. The place is modern and funky as was our room. The decor and furnishings were good and the bed comfy. Disappointingly there was lots of dust and cobwebs in our room which was poor. Even worse was the toilet which had been missed on the cleaning of the room before our arrival, totally unacceptable. . The breakfast too was disappointing, we both orders the same, Auction House breakfast. One came with one sausage, one with two. No bacon, one hash brown undercooked and overcooked eggs. Had we not paid in advance, I’d have underpaid for our stay. I’d stay again but without the breakfast.

This was a nice stay. But there are points for improvement which would make me think again before booking. Starting positive . Staff could not have been more helpful this was good. Anything you asked for they were willing. No secure bagage storage. Bedroom was ok. The bedding and towels clean. Nice decor.Carpet and furnishings like lights and side tables dusty. The carpet needed a good hoover. It was a shame it let the quality of the room down.
