I stayed at Keys Hotel in Moshi and, unfortunately, left behind some personal items. When I contacted the hotel shortly after my stay to follow up, I expected a basic level of professionalism and effort in helping me locate them. Instead, I received a defensive and dismissive response. Rather than showing concern or offering to double-check, I was told the hotel “does not have a habit of stealing” and was asked to question my travel companions. This kind of response is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. A guest seeking help with lost items should not be met with thinly veiled accusations or be made to feel as though they are being unreasonable for asking. The lack of accountability and basic customer service in this situation was deeply disappointing and reflects poorly on the hotel’s management. I would not recommend this hotel to travelers who expect integrity, courtesy, and responsible service.
