Motuoapa Bay Holiday Park is located in Turangi, just 5 minutes’ drive from Tauranga Taupo and 12 minutes’ drive from Tokaanu Thermal Pools.
At this lakeside holiday park guests have access to a shared kitchen with TV, mini-market, a children’s playground and free WiFi.
All accommodations has heating, a tea/ coffee making facilities and access to both laundry and ironing facilities. the motels have a fully equipped kitchenette with underbench fridge, electric frypan, microwave and toaster, and a private bathroom with shower and your own private deck.
Retro Kombi and Boathouse cabins have full use of shared campground kitchen and bathroom facilities
You can go hiking, fishing, cycling and participate in a variety of water sport activities in the surrounding areas.

Such a relaxed, clean and friendly camp. Gerry and Pauline (the very hard working) campground managers are the best with lots of local knowledge, and a cruisy attitude. This would be the cleanest ⛺️ campground I’ve ever visited. The marina is a great backdrop, with Lake Taupo just steps away. Easy to pass this gem on SH1, but I highly recommend a stay. Just an FYI…turn the showers to full hot, and adjust as the hot comes through! Always something quirky in campgrounds!! Thanks Gerry and Pauline, and good luck on your next venture……….just in case you do read this!

This is a rustic campground but in a great location. The unique kombi cabins and the boat cabins are very clever. We didnt us the facilities as we were in a self contained camper so i cant comment on them. We turned up at a very busy weekend without booking. the camp mangers were so helpful. And generously gave us a couple of batteries for a remote we had. a storm hit lake taupo but this campground was sheltered and in a great location.

Was incredibly easy for a last minute booking! We stayed in a Queen studio, the Reel Inn. He gave us a nice intro to the accommodation and area. Clean, well kept, and a peaceful 2 night stay! We hit the town for dinner the first night and then completed the Tongariro crossing the next morning. We were then able to cook a lovely dinner for ourselves the 2nd night. Room was nice and airy, great spot for couples! Lots of duckies and sunlight on the patio! Would definitely come back!

Haere rā Motuoapa Bay Holiday Park. Another awesome place to stay, great location (right on lakeside, a few minutes drive to Turangi, great facilities (good kitchen, laundry and bathroom facilities), and awesome managers (Gerry & Pauline). I had the most relaxing time, 8 days of kayaking, walks and just soaking up the sun and interacting with the wild life (ducks, seagulls, pukekos). I would definitely and have no hesitation in recommending this holiday park for you to stay in.

Highly recommend. Great value for money for the standard cabin. Very clean and comfortable cabin. Loved the character of the park and atmosphere. Wonderful service from the friendly staff. Also enjoy the music in the bathroom. Thank you ! Will definitely be back

This park is lakeside, and perfect for a quiet getaway. We stayed 3 nights while getting to know "Nola" our Motorhome. Lake front sites are cool, but we got breezy weather so asked to move further back after one night. It was not a problem. The facilities are dated and need upgrading but are scrupulously clean, and I am fussy. For us a wonderful stay. The hosts were fantastic.

This looked a nice place to stay beside Lake Taupo. I booked directly off the website but many of the facilities listed for the kombi option were not provided. I had to ask for a kettle, no fridge, no flat screen TV, no kitchenette. There were mistakes on the website so be carefully what you book. I was told the owners were away and the person checking me in was helping out. The camp kitchen is not well equipped - you need to have all your own gear. Lighting in the kombi is very poor - can’t read without a headlamp. On top of all that there was a storm and the power went out. Not their problem obviously. Still waiting to here back on a discount on what I would label a ‘false and misleading’ description of facilities.

Fabulous place to stay. We were in Trout House so had the most amazing view of the lake. The camp was so tranquil and peaceful. Our bed was very comfortable and the view from the kitchen bench was just magic. It was lovely sitting on the deck in the afternoon sun. A wonderful place to stay to recharge. The double glazing made for a very quiet night. All facilities were lovely and clean. We will be back.
