We have just returned from a week's holiday to Ikos Oceania with our one-year-old. We have always chosen Ikos for our summer holidays, and this is our fourth resort visited (previously we have been to Aria, Andalusia, and Olivia). Sadly, Oceania didn't have that luxurious feel like the other resorts, and it has left us questioning whether the service and offerings have dropped across the board or if we were just unlucky this time. Pros: -The pool staff was amazing. A special shoutout to Savvi, who was serving at the kids' pool. She lit up our day and was amazing with our little boy. -The reception was accommodating with our request for additional blackout blinds, as our little one was struggling with sleep -We love the WhatsApp concierge service, although we had a couple of times that we requested drinks/water, and they never turned up -The new QR codes at the pool for ordering were a big hit for us. -The onsite doctor was great with our little one, who developed a chest infection. -Always sun beds available around the pool Cons: -We felt Oceania felt more budget overall, the food quality felt less than that of other resorts, and fewer premium spirits were available. -Often experienced a long wait for room service, which sometimes came cold. The food at the buffet felt very repetitive, and there were not as many low-allergen options as we had hoped. This meant our little one had just chips, bread, and sorbet for most meals. There was also no food out at the kids' section of the buffet during our whole stay. -Our mini bar was only replenished once during our stay; previously, this was daily. -We tried the Creche with our little one. On collection, they shared how he did not settle and was visibly distressed by the time we collected him, and it took us a long time to calm him down. We would have preferred for them to call and let us know so we could either collect him early or go and settle him into the session. As much as we have loved and always recommended Ikos holidays, this trip has left us questioning whether we will return to Ikos next summer, as much as I hope we just got unlucky, maybe early in the season? It's a lot of money to spend to give a second chance. Management advised that our feedback was taken into account. However, that doesn't erase our somewhat disappointing holiday.
