We had a motorcycle trailer and a car. The cabin parking was great. Plenty of room to have our vehicle and trailer next to our cabin. It is gravel but it seemed fresh and didn’t kick up a lot of dirt. It was nice that there was space between the cabins so you never felt crowded. The campsites looked nice as well. We were there for 7 days. Pine Haven is convenient to Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Rapid City, etc. Even though it is located off the highway, it was very quiet. I always take Lysol wipes when I travel. I used one to wipe down the counter on arrival and I am happy to say the wipe came up clean. Not a spec of dirt. The only negative I can say as far as cleanliness is no one bothered to check the coffee pot. It had burned on sludge. I was able to clean it with the provided dish soap. Though we were scheduled for a week, only 2 coffee packs were provided. I didn’t go to the office to ask for more as I had brought coffee and filters from home. If you do that, be advised, it is a 5 cup coffee maker so your home filter may be a bit too big but you can make it work. A microwave is in the cabin. There is not an oven or a grill. There are fire pits with each cabin or campsite, complete with a grid that could be used to cook. You have to buy firewood from the office. A 2 burner flat top is provided with one small fry pan and one very small sauce pan. If you plan to stay more than a day or two, I would recommend bringing a grill or at least a larger pan for boiling pasta. We used our Blackstone and it was perfect. The fridge is standard hotel size. Doesn’t hold much but there was plenty of room in the cabin for our large cooler. A small set of plastic dishes, cups, and silverware, one plastic spatula, and one plastic serving spoon, are provided, along with salt and pepper. You will need to bring your own paper towels. If you aren’t interested in eating at the cabin, a listing of nearby eateries is in a binder at the cabin. The beds were pretty comfortable. Several pillows, sheets, and a bed spread are provided. For us with the pleasant temps, it was enough. But you might consider bringing a blanket or throw if you like it warmer. The a/c was a wall unit. A bit loud but we got used to it. The unit can also be set to heat. There is a bench with each cabin. The benches are very uncomfortable and only seat 2 people. You should definitely bring camp chairs if you stay a few days. A picnic table is at each site. We rented 3 cabins and one of the 3 picnic tables though it looked new was extremely warped. It doesn’t make it impossible to use - just awkward. Check-in is at 4. We arrived an hour or so early. The staff was very nice and let us check in early once we called. We all loved our cabins for the cleanliness, the parking, the ambience, and the location. If you are looking for a home away from home that is basic and clean, you can’t go wrong with this property.

The cabin was great! If you're planning on cooking, I would bring your own pots and pans. They only provide the world's tiniest pot. We had to go buy a new one. Otherwise, it was perfect!

It was a nice place to stay. They made you pay for ice was the only draw back for me.
