Terrible Experience – Unsafe for Families I had an extremely unpleasant stay at Gulf Hotel Colaba, and I strongly advise against choosing this hotel, especially for families. The staff, particularly the manager Jabbir Alom, displayed shockingly rude behavior. He lacks basic courtesy and does not know how to speak respectfully, especially towards women and families. The room conditions were appalling. The bedsheets were damp, and the overall hygiene was questionable. The rooms are much smaller than advertised in the pictures, giving a misleading impression. Worse still, the atmosphere of the hotel is completely inappropriate for families. Illegal activities seem to be rampant here, and there’s constant hookah smoke lingering in the air. The hotel is often filled with men smoking hookah, making it feel unsafe and uncomfortable. It’s also evident that the staff, backed by local political connections, behave like they are above the law. They act with arrogance, knowing that the police will turn a blind eye to complaints. The staff's behavior is unprofessional and intimidating, more like that of local goons than hospitality workers. Choosing this hotel was by far the worst decision of my life. It’s not a safe or clean environment, and I would urge anyone considering a stay here to look elsewhere.

La posizione è ottima. La camera era pulita e confortevole. Ma il vero plus di questo hotel è mr. Sanson, il manager. Capisce al volo le tue esigenze e ti rende facile soddisfarle. A noi ha risolto un bel po’ di problemi, e nel giro di pochi minuti

I ***** with my parents stayed at Gulf Hotel, Colaba for one night in a triple bed room. Chose this hotel given its location and so called good reviews. The hotel is located in an old building like most budget/midrange hotels of South Mumbai. It essentially starts from the 4th floor which is accessed by a tiny lift (max 2 full grown adults capacity excluding lift ***). The check in was smooth and staff starting from the ever smiling liftman to the receptionist are courteous. However, the rooms are small, poorly lit and claustrophobic. Bathroom which is even smaller stinks. Only 1 bottle (250ml) drinking water per person is provided. Room service is lazy and quality of food is average. Food orders take ages to get delivered. Dinner consisting of simple dal chawal, egg curry, etc ordered at 9.45 pm was delivered at 11.30 pm and that too after repeated reminders. The only reason to stay in this hotel is it's location being close to the Gateway of India and Taj Hotel. The neighborhood has a touristy vibe and evenings are pleasant. In short, I would stop just short of recommending this place. I would suggest a bit more research and adding a few extra bucks per night to book a better place in the immediate vicinity.

Pros: I think the best aspect of this hotel is its location. It is very close to Gate of India and the strand by the sea ***** which you can take an early morning walk or an evening walk. A good choice of halal restaurants are just within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful. Cons: I booked a three-people executive room which I expected to be more spacious. Overall, the hotel gives you a cramped feeling. The elevator contributes to that feeling the most as two people can barely fit in it (excluding the lift ***!). I felt the room rent to be higher than usual, perhaps because Mumbai is an expensive city. The worst aspect is the hotel's wifi connection. I had to be at a particular corner of my room to get my devices connected to the internet and use them. Lastly, if you are a frequent mall-goer, you may feel a bit disappointed because the big malls of Mumbai aren't located in this part of the city.

This hotel is in a great location for sightseeing, India Gate etc, however, i booked this hotel at short notice having been let down at short notice by another hotel. The duty manager hiked the price, taking advantage of the situation my son and me were in at 4.30 in the morning. The management were cynical and unhelpful, the general staff were ok. The lift is a joke, it’s like something from the 1920s, the stairs are just as bad.

Perfect place and location to stay in Mumbai close to the sea and the market very good eating places around the best part is you find people from lot of countries around about the Gulf Hotel good and clean rooms value for money I will surely add to thank the staff and Samson for being concern about all services I wanted it is a great place to stay

The Manager Samson was so kind and generous he provided us great service and alwyes helped, It was my birthday on 17th I was impressed by hospitality and service provided by him. Thank you so much Samson. Thanks to Nazim as well for great service we love the stay and felt so comfortable and happy. The room were hygienic ,room service is also very good, hotel Taj and gate way of India are just walking distance from Gulf..so ideal place to stay in Colaba, food was awesome. Hotel Cafe and ambience was authentic and so beautiful. Pleasent vibes. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent stay hotel at very good location very close to gateway of India we got very clean room and we had good stay staff is very helpful food and breakfast is very nice space to sit and enjoy the view from cafe Samson helped us to see good places and have proper attention for our services
