Windermere Estate

We had a truly memorable stay at this beautiful property in Munnar. We booked the Garden View Cottage, the interiors were vintage-style with elegant wooden décor and a cozy feel. The location is absolutely breathtaking. There’s a private 20-30 step climb within the property leading to a panoramic viewpoint—tea plantations on one side, Munnar town on the other, with majestic mountains all around. Truly serene and perfect for nature lovers. The property is calm, well-maintained, with beautiful gardens and a wide variety of flowers. The small but charming pool is a lovely touch. The restaurant has an old English charm and the continental + South Indian breakfast was excellent. Staff and caretakers were friendly, quick to respond, and very helpful—great hospitality! Cons: Dinner was disappointing in both taste and value , and basic kits like sandals and toiletries had to be requested, which ideally should be pre-provided. Despite this, we loved the overall experience and will definitely return. Perfect for a quiet weekend getaway in Munnar.

This is a beautiful spot in the mountains. We were in one of the Planters rooms, which was huge and very comfortable. It had a large terrace for sitting outside with a view of the mountains. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was good. The staff naturalist did a great job guiding walking tours and really knew the birds. Two things to note are that staying in the Planters rooms requires navigating a lot of bumpy steps down to the room (and back up). And also that alcohol is not available, but you can bring it with you and drink it in your room.

Amazingly restful hotel. Fabulous food and wish we had stayed longer! The food was great and the pool was so comfortable.The view from our balcony was to die for. The space and cleanliness of our rooms was amazing and our laundry service was very prompt and reasonable! Completely recommend
