"Enjoyable city break. The hotel is perfectly located for all the local amenities and sightseeing venues. All staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The only negative about the room was that there was noise from the street and roads below. The breakfast was great with adequate choice. Hot drinks machine available 24hrs . Excellent value for money."

"Fantastic hotel. Opened as AC Marriott in august 2025. The hotel has been completely renovated to a very high standard. It was formally a NH hotel. Located right on the harbour the location cannot be beaten. Next to the main shopping street. Parking on site at 19€ per day in their underground car park. We enjoyed excellent food at very reasonable prices in the restaurant. Staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. This has got to be the best hotel in Cartagena by far. We will return."

"I hope this can be seen by the Spanish tourist board about how my family and myself were treated at this hotel. The Spanish people appeared to be treated with a lot more curtesy and manners by the staff than us the people from Britain. I am a coach driver in London and I treat people as I find them treating all nationalities courteously. Any time you asked for something the answer was no straight away with no explanation. If the wrong staff is in that hotel then all you are going to get is bad reviews. The staff should be helpful, courteous and polite to everyone. My last day at the hotel we checked out of the hotel at 12 md. I went down to the bar at the pool area at 1pm to ask for a coffee for my sister and myself and the answer was “no” even though I offered to pay for them. I told the barman that he was not very obliging and quite rude, to which he replied “ see you next year” . I responded “you won’t see me next year”. He replied with “that’s good”. I went to reception and told the staff member there that the bar man was very rude and she replied “ I know”. This will not do your business or reputation any good."

"The room was clean and tidy, with complete facilities and an excellent location. The breakfast was very rich, and all the desserts were delicious. Dinner was also good, especially the fish and pork chop. My pork chop wasn't fully cooked, so I asked the chef to heat it up, but instead, he made me a whole new one!"

"Cleanliness: We got ourselves a double room and the room was very clean. The room didn’t have any carpet which I personally would have liked. Location: The hotel is in the centre and easy access to the Cartagena stadium and attractions. Plenty of food places around too. They have their own private parking for additional fee, but we chose to park 10 mins away which was free from the evening to the morning and then you pay €2.50 for three hours use, and then we drove out, which worked in our favour as we only spent €2.50 for parking for one night. Service: The check in and check out process was quick, easy and smooth Amenities: There is no kettle in the room. For hot drinks you would need to go downstair to the reception and use the hot drink machine. There are options for coffee, teas, hot chocolate, cappuccino etc, which is included in the price you pay for the room and then u can take it to your room or stay downstair. Also I wasn’t happy with the wifi situation. To access wifi, you click on the hotel wifi and then enter your name and email address and the email address needs to be confirmed in order to be able to use. I personally am not fond of this, as I didn’t have an option to opt out on emails so I didn’t use their wifi. Also the wifi can not be access from every part of the room, my partner spent more time in the bathroom than in the room since that was the only place he could get a very good wifi connection. Downside: The wifi connection was a struggle to get in the hotel. But other than that the room was nice and spacious."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful. Most of the information is in Spanish. However, they were more than happy to print it for us in English. The breakfast had a big choice of hot and cold food including pancakes, cooked breakfast, pastries, fruit etc. We would highly recommend the marine pools which is all salt water. There are lots of jets in hot and cold water including a physiotherapy pool to float in. We also had a massage which included the Hammam vaporise for 45 minutes. This was hot and cold different rooms like sauna, water jets, walk in stones with cold water and then hot water. I would highly recommend this hotel. The only downside was that we went on the 24th of June. This was a red day ( St John the Baptist) and restaurants around the local area were closed. The hotel restaurant and bar was also closed as it doesn't open into the first of July."

"I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel Occidental Murcia. The hotel exceeded my expectations: the room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped — perfect for relaxing after a day in the city. The staff was also friendly and efficient. The only downside was the pool, which is small and has limited space for sunbathing. However, this did not affect my overall experience, which was excellent. I would definitely recommend it and would gladly stay again!"

"We just stayed at AC Cartagena, and overall we had a really good experience. The location was excellent, close to everything, and perfect for exploring the city on foot. The parking situation was definitely interesting. You have to use a small car elevator to get to the garage, which was super tight, but luckily we had rented a small car so it worked out fine. The hotel itself was very nice. Our room was on the 5th floor with a good layout and a nice balcony, though the view wasn’t anything special. Breakfast was decent—you can order eggs, and they have the standard buffet items to go with it. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. This hotel is super close to the cruise port. Overall, a solid stay in a great location. Recommend it for sure!"

"Our room was dirty. We had to ask for additionaly cleaning. The dishes were dirty too. Horrible. The food wasn't good. This hotel is for thousand people, it has ten floors, but only with four lifts. The pool is very small for so many people. Also a few sunbeds too. And none on the beach. The whole holiday was saved by the beautiful sea and our trips. I don't recommend."
