I booked and paid for a premium mountain view room for 2 nights at The Pearl by DLS, Mussoorie. But when I arrived, I was given a basic room with no view because, as staff admitted later, they had upgraded someone else to my room. After 2 hours of complaints, they gave me a lower-category room for the first night, with a promise to move me the next day. Only on day two did I finally get the room I had paid for—no apology, no compensation. The issues didn’t end there: No room key provided – “server down” was the excuse. Staff had to unlock the door each time with a master key. Lift wasn’t working – not ideal for a property on a hillside. Rude and dismissive staff – they told me to "enjoy the view from the deck" when I questioned the missing mountain view. Cabs don’t reach the hotel – had to walk nearly 500 meters uphill with luggage, which is never mentioned during booking. Overall, this hotel is poorly managed and not worth the premium rates. Guests should not suffer because of the hotel's internal chaos. Would not recommend.
