Caruso Place Boutique & Wellness Suites

We booked this hotel for our stay in Naples months in advance. A couple weeks before, we received a message that they would not have breakfast due to a fault in the kitchen. They offered alternatives so we proceeded. About 2 1/2 days before we were set to arrive, we received a WhatsApp message that our reservation was being cancelled due to an electrical fault. Called the hotel to discuss and reception was wholly unapologetic and said we could cancel our booking if we wanted. I asked if we had an option as it sounded like we didn’t. She said the option was we cancel or they cancel. Again, no further explanation or apology or alternative. We ended up scrambling to choose a last minute alternative hotel (which was lovely) but we were entirely disappointed with this hotel’s handling of the situation.

Great view, nice enough place

The location is perfect! The staff was wonderful! Great stay!

Where to start…hotel is on a pedestrian road so no taxis allowed. Struggled with rolling luggage over old stone streets. You are not allowed to bring outside food into the hotel and eat in your room or in the hotel. We grabbed McDonalds and was told to leave the hotel to eat. I was told by the owner over the phone this is because they are a historic building and outside food isn’t allowed. We tried eating outside in the courtyard and was yelled at by local residents. The hotel pictures make you believe this hotel is in the beautiful mall, but it’s not. It’s across the street. The mattress is terrible. It’s like sleeping on a motorhome mattress. Our room was next to the street where we heard people all night long. Bring earplugs if you stay here.I will say the place is extremely clean with nice restrooms. It came with robes and slippers, which was a nice touch.

The room was recently renovated. Very modern and clean. The big disappointment was the AC. We told the staff it did not seem to be working well and they said it was turned down as much as it could be. The thermostat said 19 C but it was no where close to that. As a result, we spent a very uncomfortable night. Had the AC worked properly I would give this a 5 star but to spend as much on the room as we did and be uncomfortable is not acceptable.

Good location, good service, a little pricey for what you get.
