Golden Rock Nevis

The grounds and the amenities at this gorgeous inn (an old sugar plantation), on the side of Nevis Peak, are spectacular. The rooms are large and well supplied, though there is no air conditioning. But the sounds of the jungle and fans made for a very restful sleep. Serenaded by wild donkeys, feeding birds from our porch, and entertained by monkeys made for a wonderful visit. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. One thing we really liked- and haven't seen at other places- is free laundry service! We just left our clothes in the hamper and the next day, we got them back, clean & folded. We took a walking tour of the incredible botanical garden with the head gardener and it was beautiful. We had 3 dinners here, 2 lunches, 7 breakfasts. The dining area was beautiful. Staff are lovely. The dinners were mixed; we had some things we liked and some we didn't. Breakfasts were the best and included with the room. The inn arranged for all our transfers- from St Kitts airport to water taxis, and when we rented a car, they delivered it to the inn. The only negative issue we had was in checking out. I had booked a special package for my husband & I and the other couple we traveled with, directly on the website. When we went to settle up, the other couple didn't get the special package that was confirmed by the hotel. Their room rate was much higher, despite the confirmation that I presented to them. I was told that they couldn't edit the room rate (because it came from the "states") so we proceeded to spend more than an hour with a calculator (!) and multiple edits, to adjust our companions' bill. I was told next time to book direct. If booking on the website is not direct, I don't know what is. I highly doubt I would have received the special package had I called the hotel directly (something I rarely do). It just left a sour taste on departure for something that was confirmed in writing.

The place is nice, but the service was horrible! It would be nice if the waitress could check on the table once in a while! I won’t be back! It took way too long to get our food! These people act like they are doing you a service to serve you! The view is nice and surrounding somewhat nice as well.

It was recommended to us to have lunch at thr Golden Rock and we were so thankful we did! The grounds are truly beautiful and worth exploration after a wonderful meal. So many paths and walkways that are breathking. This is a "don't miss" while visiting Nevis Island.

Beautiful gardens and fantastic staff The Golden Rock is a beautiful, low intensity hotel complex, with exceptional gardens. It offers something quite different than other hotels in Nevis. The staff were exceptionally helpful and caring. They also helped to make arrival easy by organizing a seamless transfer from the airport to the water taxi and then to the hotel. Highly recommend

This property is amazing, from the arrival to departure. The gardens are beautiful, people are amazingly hospitable, food taste homemade (you can taste the love in it), and it is safe. I highly recommend this property for your vacation! I’d only share that if you like to have air conditioning then I’d prepare to either send a mobile AC unit ahead of your arrival or, you should see if you can buy one here. The nighttime tropical winds are nice but if it’s humid outside, it can present some discomfort for the person who requires AC for sleeping.

Ein Restaurant und Hotel mitten in tropischer Fülle. Beeindruckende Pflanzenpracht. Bei unserem Besuch war das Restaurant leider wegen Umbau geschlossen. Allein zu Segen, wie groß Pflanzen werden können, die wie nur als kleine Topfpflanzen kennen, beeindruckt zutiefst.
