Not quiet. Room was over bar that played heavy bass club music til 2.

The staff was very nice, but the desk is not staffed and we had to go into the bar to find someone to check us in and answer questions. As someone else said, it's really a bar that rents rooms. We were directly above the bar and heard music through the floor until very late. Parking is insufficient and we ended up with a street-parking ticket.

Location was perfect. Quaint area of Newtown. Bar was very loud. Our room was facing street above tavern and you could hear people talking loudly when they hung out in front of the tavern. There isn’t someone at hotel reception desk and

My husband and I stayed there for a few nights over Christmas week, and I’m sorry to share that it was very average and mostly underwhelming. We stayed in suite 1, the nicest one. There was a used coffee cup on the mantle from a previous guest (perhaps the maid missed it.) We had to ask for clean towels that were all mis-matched sizes. We did not get our bed made or a change of sheets. The floor was cold. The fireplace remote didn’t work. The staff is very agreeable when you ask for things you need, but I think it would be so much better if a guest didn’t have to ask, if these clean things were provided regardless. I understand COVID times have changed hospitality standards, but we are now living in 2024, and the Inn was empty during our stay. There is no reason our room should be left unattended. Additionally, I left my charger by the extension cord hanging by the window, and when I went back to ask about it, the head lady said it wasn’t there. She said they clean all the rooms throughly. Hah. As a guest, I can safety say they don’t, and now I feel my charger mysteriously vanished. I wish I had better things to say. We won’t be returning.

Very charming historic inn. Staff was nice and helpful upon check-in, and when i accidentally locked my key in the room. I booked the Bouvier room on the 3rd floor which was quiet and comfortable. Being a historic inn, I went in with the expectation that it would be low frills, which is was. But for the price, I think it's a great option for anyone staying in the Newtown area who wants historic charm and to be in the walkable State Street area.
