Rumours Luxury Villas & Spa

Rumours Luxury Villas and Spa is rated number one among 5 star options on Rarotonga year after year for a reason. It is excellent on all fronts. The accommodations are excellent, the service is excellent, and the location is excellent. We stayed in the Beachfront Platinum Villa for a week over Christmas/New Year of 2023/24. The Villa itself is amazing with a spacious main living area and Kitchen, two ocean facing primary bedrooms with beautifully designed bathrooms, a private pool and jacuzzi, and I believe what had to be largest private deck closest to the ocean in the Muri Beach area. This deck is where we spent every morning drinking coffee, and in the evening watching the sunset, and later staring at the amazing stars on display. Everything about this villa was superb. The staff were also amazing, including Toni and John who were always very helpful and friendly with lots of tips and advice, as were the rest of the staff! The experience was so good we are going back the end of next month and are staying in the same Villa. The fact that we are returning for a second trip says a lot, as does the fact that I am writing this review, which I don't often do. If you are going to Rarotonga, choose Rumors, and if the Platinum Villa is available, I would highly recommend you choose it. Fantastic location and villa. Staff were great and nothing was too much trouble for Toni. Her recommendations for activities and restaurants were excellent. One of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had and would fully recommend staying at Rumours.

Such a beautiful place & lovely location, we stayed at multiple places during our vacation and no-one stood up the service we receive at Rumours! Toni was most helpful & the room service was 100% so clean , villa was well stocked & anything we asked for was not a problem, I highly recommend staying at Rumours! I must not forget to mention the 2 bedroom villa we had was to die for, a gorgeous private little sanctuary for us! we will be back!!

The property was simply amazing. The weather wasn't the best, but we had everything we needed in our Villa so we didn't need to leave. The plunge pool was cool and refreshing but my wife preferred the spa - which she could heat up to whatever temperature she wanted. Magical finish to our time in Cook Islands. You could not want for anything more. The WiFi is now free as well which was a pleasant surprise to what was advertised.

Staff were attentive when asked questions and got repair of kayak done quickly but broke after being fixed. Quite basic for 5 star accommodation. Very disappointed in breakfast. Three of us staying in two bedroom villa and got a croissant, juice and muesli with bowl of yoghurt to share. We got two bagels on one day to share for three and a muffin cut in half one day for three. No fruit and we were on a tropical island. Snorkel equipment was included but mouth piece was broken. Waking up to view every morning amazing and perfect location for villa on the beach. Overall we thought that it was very overpriced for what was presented.

The place is near all commercial and tourist hotspots of Lonavala. The property itself is quite small and not as sprawling as described in some posts. We were a couple and stayed at the “Sky Villas”- unique in concept but could have been better if the view faced the backside of the property. Can sleep 4. Like any other place in Lonavla, you will get the large party who will insist on playing loud music and dominating the pool. The food is good, service is excellent. This place like any other would be a better experience on a weekday. Go for it if the price is right and you want to be in the heart of Lonavla
