The ultimate lodging experience for a railroad enthusiast!! Staying in an authentic Santa Fe caboose built in 1949 and refurbished for comfort was a bucket list experience. Add the fine pancake and sausage breakfast and the view of Clear Lake to complete a wonderful experience. Thanks for maintaining a unique B&B and preserving railroad heritage!! Plus a great time at the Boathouse Bar and the Blue Wing Saloon!!!

Featherbed is extraordinary. Off-season it is QUIET and the tricked-out cabooses have all the luxuries - big beds, bathroom. Each caboose is decorated differently - ours was 'wine' and had a BIG spa tub. A fine tree swing affording views of the lake, chairs placed for lakeside viewing, and a fabulous hot breakfast each morning ...what more could one want for a peaceful get-away?

Wonderful getaway place. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful lakefront views and great to sit on the dock watching the sunset. Hosts are wonderful and very accommodating. Have stayed 3 times now and will be back again.

The Featherbed inn is a wonderful romantic place to spend your special occasion or any type of getaway we have been going to the Featherbed inn for over 5yrs and never get tired of the huge spa/bath in some of the Cabooses, we also enjoyed the delicious breakfast/ brunch type morning meal. Staff is always pleasant and friendly. I recommend the orient express or the Great Gatsby since they both have decks with view of the lake however all Cabooses are themed and neat. The price is perfect you will not be disappointed.

Featherbed Railroad B&B is a quaint, unique location for a wonderful get away weekend. The rooms are comfortable and breakfast delicious. Clearlake is a beautiful lake to look out and enjoy

We have been yearly guests at the Featherbed Railroad for several years. So imagine my surprise when I canceled our  reservation 7 days in advance believing that I had done so before the cancellation deadline, they refused to give me a full refund. After much negotiation by ******* on my behalf, they finally agreed to refund me for one night. My belief was that I could cancel the reservation before midnight 7 days in advance. Well it turns out, the deadline was 7 p.m. and I missed the deadline by 33 minutes.  Apparently there is absolutely no room for compassion from the onsite manager. I had explained that my husband was having some health concerns and that's why I canceled the reservation. Call the cancellation police! I was 33 minutes late! Oh my! After escalating the issue to a supervisor, who contacted FR again, they still refused to give me a full refund. I even asked to reinstate my reservation in case they would not give me a full refund, which they also refused. I find it hard to believe that they're not going to be able to find a replacement reservation 7 days in advance. So not only are they likely to recoup the full reservation amount, but they are also keeping $304 of my money. The least they could have done is offered to refund the second night if they were able to rebook the caboose. Never again! Our yearly stays with FR are over!

What a great hidden gem for a birthday get away. The new owners are amazingly accommodating and so welcoming! Caboose was great and the homemade sourdough and chocolate chip cookies were fantastic. I can't wait to share with family and friends what a great experience this was.

Our visit to Lake County One of the best experiences was to go out in the morning and feel the cool and fresh air coming from the lake. The staff is nice and know how to keep the place to the top.
