Bessiestown Country Guesthouse

What a lovely place to stay. We stayed here for four nights our hosts Margaret and Jackie made us feel so welcome. All of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom was spotless, bed was comfortable (probably the best sleep I have had anywhere) and the room was so quiet. As I have Coeliacs and require a gluten-free diet it can be difficult to get a full breakfast and I usually have to miss out on some items. This wasn't the case here as each day I was offered a filling full English breakfast including Sausages and GF bread for toast. Margaret was always interested to know what we had been up to the previous day and offered suggestions we could visit including places to eat. Jackie's dry sense of humour kept us amused each morning. We loved our stay here and would gladly come back when we find ourselves up this way again

Absolutely lovely place to stay, hosts were welcoming and helpful, room was spotless and cosy. plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, also milk in a jug and small fridge, hallelujah I hate those awful little milk pods. We had the use of conservatory which was also warm and most welcome after a day of walking. To top it off the breakfast was so delicious it was hard not to over eat.

Absolutely amazing from start to finish! Room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. The views were amazing. We enjoyed sitting in the conservatory in the evenings. The staff were very friendly, made you feel at home. Would highly recommend.

This was our third stay here and we would definitely stay again. Large apartment type room, easy parking and friendly hosts. The breakfast was excellent. Easy parking next to the apartment. Only issue is due to several hotels now closed it is a 15 minute drive to somewhere for dinner.

Well this guesthouse is a real find. We were made to feel very welcome. The room was spacious and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room as were toiletries in the en-suite. There was a communal lounge and a fabulous conservatory. Our hosts were absolutely lovely and were very helpful with information about the area. Breakfast was fantastic and really set us up for the day. We will definitely stay here again, thank you

We booked this as it was the nearest available to Netherby Hall fair. So glad we did as it was delightful and set in beautiful surroundings. The room was spotless and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was delicious and the owners were lovely. The highlight was the 3 setters who were amazing. Thank you
