Motel 6 Norfolk, VA

First impressions matter.... The Lobby was in poor display (in dire need of remodel). The clerk spoke very broken English and was difficult to speak with. It appeared that that the motel is also being used for people living for extended stays. People were hanged out all around the outside walkways and parking lot some sitting in beach chairs. Alcohol and ********* both were being consumed. Went to check the room and was faced with terrible smells....the bathroom light didn't work, the ceiling was water stained and starting to peel. Although it was late we opted to leave and not stay. First we did NOT feel safe and second I would NOT let my dog sleep in the conditions that the room was in. Went back to the clerk and he was understanding and refunded our monies without question.
