Excellent place and very clean

Hilltop gets one point for cost, best price during the summer in the area. And they get one point for location. Perfect midpoint on rte 2 between Westerly beaches and Foxwoods. And a free shuttle to/from Foxwoods Now the reasons why there are no more points: - the rooms: thin walls and ceiling, strange noises during the night (maybe a nearby compressor), a bed in a metal frame that made pinging noises when you moved while sleeping. And the worst- the smell! Some kind of musty smell, maybe a cover up for old cigarette smell. The smell was so bad we brought air fresheners which didn’t help. The smell permeated everything we brought into the room- clothes, luggage, bags. I had to wash, clean, aerate everything when I got home. - and the advertised “deluxe continental breakfast” did not exist. The breads were stale, no yogurt and the y hot food was make your own waffles. Other than some cereal, that was it. Definitely not deluxe

This place is not a hotel. It is a MOTEL at best. The place is off putting and in poor condition. It feels UNSAFE. I booked this spot for my young daughter and myself last minute when we needed to stay for a convention at Foxwoods. They placed the two of us in the back of the building alone. It felt incredibly unsafe and my gut told me it wasn’t right for us despite the online booking making the place seem like a clean hotel. The room was stuffy, the sheets had rips and holes, and it clearly had been a smoking room at one point. The smell in the room was just as bad as the smell in the lobby. Nothing was updated. I decided to book a new hotel and leave as this was not a good, safe place for us. When I left they told me I had to work with ******* to get my refund. I did. They gave ******* the run around for a week before I was told they refused to give a refund. Shady stuff. We walked into the room and left. They should have given a refund and been easier to work with. The front desk woman is also quite rude on the phone days before and the day we needed to leave. If you chance booking here, know you either are forced to stay when you realize it is a dump or you will lose your money when you leave. RUN AWAY AND BOOK ANYWHERE ELSE.
