I recently stayed at the Strand Townhouse in Dunmore East and, unfortunately, it was quite a disappointing experience. The house is old and drab, lacking the charm you might expect from a place in Dunmore East. The rooms were especially underwhelming, with noticeable deficiencies in quality and comfort. One of the biggest issues was the noise. The hotel is located in a busy area, and the constant traffic noise made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. While the location is indeed convenient and close to various attractions, this advantage is overshadowed by the poor condition of the accommodations. There are likely better options available in Dunmore Easing that offer more comfort.

We stayed in The Townhouse. A very disappointing stay. No money spent on this premises. Mattresses extremely uncomfortable, bathrooms very outdated & ours was actually quite dirty. No black out blind for light. We love Dunmore East but could not recommend this accommodation

…. overpriced and very much an annexe to the main hotel. The shower room badly needs a refurb. The shower itself circa 1980 and sounds like an aircraft taking off. The flush on the loo temperamental and in need of replacing. No plug for the sink. Poor quality tea, coffee and biscuits. The public area smelt of cheap household cleaner. I twice phoned reception, as did a colleague and neither of us ever got through to a human. To end on a positive note the staff in the main hotel were wonderful and a pleasure to interact with. The room itself was clean. The mattress and sheets good quality and so made the room relatively comfortable.

The king sized bed was far too big for room 4, as the wardrobe door barely opened enough to get your hand in. The shower could not be regulated, so cooked alive or cold was your option. The toilet made a screeching noise refilling, which lasted for minutes. The furniture was dingy. The mirror in the toilet was too high for an average person. I could hear scratching in the partition wall during the night. The whole building urgently need a complete upgrade. I would not stay in the Town House again. However, breakfast in the Strand Inn was excellent and the staff were first class. I would definately stay in the Strand Inn. Declan

We booked the townhouse instead of the Inn by mistake. You have to register at reception at the Inn and then go up a steep hill to find the townhouse, not great when your back is bad. Reception staff not very welcoming. You also have to go back down to the Inn to get your breakfast, not ideal. The room itself was small but clean. The breakfast was small but tasty, coffee was good. Don't think we'll be back.

I would not recommend staying here at all. Antiquated, small rooms. Dingy bathrooms. No social space. Booked for 2 nights, left after 1. They did not charge us. It’s unfortunate there is not good accommodation in this lovely village. The restaurants are fantastic. Best Seafood in Ireland
