"Never felt more welcome and cared for during my trip than in this hotel. Everybody from front to restaurant was kind, helpfull and forgiving of mistakes. The room is so beautifull, the smell of the tatami is so good. The things in the room are clearly chosen and cared for with love. And the view, well you will never get tired of looking out over the coastline with the boats going in and out and people fishing from the pier. The diner was a perfect display of culinary skill and in line with the season. It was a feast for the eye as well as the mouth. Breakfast was perfect as well. Same as above. The common bath was also just right, if you are early enough you can look at the sea while enjoing it. Thank you everybody, it could not have been better."

"Big rooms facing the bay. Staff was helpful even though none of them speak much English. The lady with short hair seems to be there all the time. We saw her before check in and saw her again early next morning. She's very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Public bath is next hotel and comes with bay view too."

Obama Machiya Stay

"Matchiya stay was a great experience. The house was clean and cosy. We have ordered both the dinner and breakfast to be provided. Dinner was sumptuous, however it was a pity that there was no soy sauce included when we unpacked the dinner that was delivered. Otherwise, Obama was a nice city for a chillax visit."

"The view from the room was wonderful, and it was quiet and very relaxing. The meals were delicious, featuring plenty of local Fukui specialties. The staff were all very kind, and it was a very comfortable stay."

Business Hotel Sankai

"The entrance was so dirty I thought it was a hoarder's house. The room was also awful; the table turned completely black when I wiped it, and I didn't feel like using the cups or anything until they were washed. It was terrible. The hallway lights weren't on, so it was pitch black and I couldn't see the keyhole."
