Palace Hotel - Small Hotel

Très bien localisé (à pied : 5 min du ferry, 5 min de la gare, restaurants à côté). Vieux bâtiment donc pas d'ascenseur (et pas de petits étages). Dur quand vous avez une grosse valise, en plus de vos affaires à transporter... Bizarrement, la réception est au 1er étage. Donc vous devez tout emmener avec vous jusqu'au 1er étage... Vous devrez compléter & signer aussi une feuille avec vos renseignements qui disent que si vous amenez de la nourriture et des boissons dans la chambre (qui ne viennent pas de l'hôtel), on peut vous demander des comptes, voire vous exclure de votre chambre... Bizarre quand par la suite, on se rend compte qu'il y a un mini-frigidaire. Bon, débranché, bien sûr, mais pourquoi le laisser ? Sympa, la propriétaire se rend compte que j'ai eu du mal à monter jusqu'ici et me propose de changer ma chambre (initialement au 3ème étage, avec vue sur la mer). La nouvelle chambre serait au 1er étage, avec une douche, mais avec vue sur le jardin. Vu les étages, j'accepte (ayant pré-payé, ils sont gagnants). Je me retrouve alors dans une chambre, selon la propriétaire "fraichement rénovée". Au départ, très bien, juste l'eau chaude de la douche qui prend un peu de temps à venir. Sauf que lendemain, je me réveille avec un ver sur mon drap housse ! J'appelle la proprio et lui demande qu'elle me change les draps à leurs frais (parce que oui, si vous demandez un changement supplémentaire, ça vous sera facturé). Ce qu'elle accepte. Sauf que le soir-même, j'en retrouve encore plusieurs et le lendemain soir, ils me tombent carrément sur la tête ! Ils semblent venir de la poutre du plafond. Génial, pour une chambre" fraîchement rénovée" ! Je décide de quitter l'hôtel et heureusement, au moment de partir, je tombe sur le fils de la propriétaire, qui, compréhensif, me remercie de l'avoir prévenu et me rembourse intégralement mon séjour. Pour cet élan de sympathie, j'ai ajouté une étoile.

I paid £138 for 1 night as I was desperate. I would never go back to this place as it’s no palace. It has no breakfast included, no WiFi, no parking and no lift ( it’s five floors) the place is very very dated and needs a deep clean. I feel it’s easy to rob customers of their cash when people are desperate. The best thing about the palace is it’s situated on the main st overlooking the harbour ( I didn’t have a room with a view) I must say the bed was clean but very hard so no sleep for me. Safe to say I would stay well clear of the palace hotel

Went with 11 family members, Rooms were quite good however night time staff we’re rude, fridges in the rooms yet were told we can’t bring any food or liquids into hotel atall I understand the food part but too not even be able too bring in liquids is ridiculous, we were told if we didn’t leave the premises with the food and liquids wee would be getting thrown out, also £200 was taken out of my Nana’s account and everytime we asked staff why this was we were told the manager was unavailable then on our final day as we were leaving we asked for a third time and were told we would get it back once they had inspected the rooms, overall a nice little hotel just a shame about the staff.

This is anything but a palace as it’s very very dated and in need of a deep clean although the bed was clean. The best about the hotel is it’s situated on the Main Street facing the harbour. I feel the owners are very happy robbing customers of their cash. I paid £138 for 1 night as I was desperate. Stayed one night here with my husband & our 2 children. This hotel is not half as bad as the reviews make it out to be. We booked this as it was the last option available for a family of 4 for 1 night as we were meeting family in Oban who stayed elsewhere. At £184 per night without breakfast we found this was very expensive, We were also £18 to park for 24 hours at the car park behind the hotel, Adding this takes our overall stay to over the £200 mark so for that reason we wouldn’t stay again. Our room was on the top floor & there is no lift so keep this in mind when booking there is ALOT of stairs. Our room was spotless, the bedding was all white & fresh, towels shampoo conditioner & little soaps were provided. Tea & Coffee making facilities in the room aswell and a small fridge. On check in we were greeted by a lady who was pleasant enough but nobody there on check out & we just dropped the key but this wasn’t an issue for us. The view from our room was lovely.
