Alua Helios Bay - All Inclusive

We don't usually do reviews, I'd hate the thought of someone going to a hotel I rate, to go and hate it. But this hotel surpassed our expectations, the room was spacious and overlooking the pool and beach, and the bed was oh so big(a little to big) Mini bar was stocked. Food was excellent, when you go all inclusive there is bound to be repetition but there was always something new. The pool was freezing which is a downer also the jacuzzi, who has a cold jacuzzi? The entertainment girl Savi deserves a mention she worked her **** of all day The hotel staff were all pleasant and smiling and they worked hard keeping the hotel spotless. One last point sunbeds why are sunbeds so uncomfortable, they have been the same design since package holidays started. That's my only gripe not pointed at this hotel in particular but sunbeds in general. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel Jet 2 from Liverpool.

Good hotel for a relaxing family holidays. Stayed in August with 2 children of 14 &11 years old. Entertainment team works hard during the day with a lot to do. Big variety of food available. As in all All Inclusive it is repetitive but this is expected. Room was kept clean and air conditioning worked well. First hotel where you don't have to queu for the drinks,staff working very efficiently and there were a lot of them. Swimming pool was freezing 🥶 and areas around the pool are very slippery so hotel should do something about it. A nice little town is just round the corner with nice shops and restaurants. Hotel spa does really nice massages which we really enjoyed. The only disappointment was that evening entertainment is very poor to nearly non existant so very boring in the evening and probably the worst I have ever seen in any other hotels. Good for people who likes to be in bed by 9pm. Overall we had a good holiday. Thank you

We stayed here for a week at the end of season. Really enjoyed our stay, went all inclusive for a reasonable price. Food and drinks were good, most of the staff were friendly except for one young man at the bar who was rude. Telling people to “hurry up” with their drink orders. Room was spotless and very spacious with a fantastic view onto the sea. Entertainment was a bit hit or miss at night, kids entertainment was annoying and should have been on at an earlier time. Also, couldn’t book the Asian restaurant as there was a week wait, no use when your only staying a week. Would return but in season, most of the town had closed down.

Hotel is lovely and clean,rooms are nice ,maid comes in everyday, lovely views,right on the beach , drinks are good ,staff don't understand much english, food was good alway something, town about 15 min walk not much there has closed up for end of season, which we didn't know ,2 lovely parks just outside the hotel ,nice walk down the sea front ,think would be really nice in high season, pool and jacuzzi, freezing cold needs to be heated ,the sea was warmer, entertainment terrible, they played the same 3 games everyday ,no water aerobics are yoga, and night time terrible think there was something on for kids about 8 but we when in later at 9 adults entertainment was some of the worse I've seen only on for half a hour best of the 2 weeks was on our last night was a lady singer who came back on for about 1 hour and the dj night was good ,we when away for a relaxing time and we got that,we paid up grade don't think I would again has your suppose to own area in reasurant and sea bed area ,but there was always people with white bands there and nothing said to them,the life guard just sit on his phone all day ,would I go back yes maybe but not for 2 weeks and not at the end of season

The hotel is very clean throughout, we had a corner room with panoramic views of the sea, we had a large balcony with sun loungers , our room was very nice, very roomy and very clean. All hotel staff were pleasant and helpful . Entertainment was not the greatest but we have come out of season . The all inclusive buffet was great, I’m a very fussy eater and didn’t have any problems finding plenty to choose from. You also help yourself to drinks in the restaurant. The only thing I would say is needed extra would be another toaster or 2 at breakfast time. The pool is large but I can imagine trying to get a sun longer in peak season would be hard. My only gripe with the hotel is the smell of cigarette smoke everywhere , smoking is allowed around the pool, around the pool bar, every terrace you just can’t seem to get away from it, we were on the 6th floor and it was all we could smell along the whole corridor. Obzor was very quiet but I assume because of the time of year, we caught the bus into nessebar for 10lev each and a taxi to old town nessebar which is definitely worth a visit, we also took a bus to Varna again 10lev each and got a taxi to Sea Gardens which is beautiful and many things to do while there, you can not get round this in one day though. While the hotel staff were lovely we didn’t find this outside the hotel, we found Bulgarians to be very rude, one even threw our receipt at us! At times we felt like we were an inconvenience. One week was definitely more than enough as there really wasn’t much to do.

Me and my girlfriend have just got back from spending a week here. The hotel is beautiful and in a stunning setting, walking through the doors at the back of the lobby out on to a terrace the view of the beach and sea is stunning. We felt like we had our own private beach during our stay. The rooms are large and to a good standard, and we had a nice balcony overlooking the pool and the beach. Before our stay I had seen a negative comment regarding the hotel’s lifts and the wait times, I can’t say we experienced that mind you we did visit at the end of the season. The pool is unheated and a lot of people were saying it was too cold, personally that absolutely suited me but it’s something to be mindful of. If you find it’s too cold you still have options, there’s a heated indoor pool and of course the sea. All the staff are lovely and very helpful; from reception staff, to bar staff, the cleaners, the animation team, I wouldn’t have a negative thing to say about any of them. The food was excellent throughout our stay, the Balkan themed dinner on the Saturday night being a particular highlight. Our only bad experience was with the Nubium a la carte restaurant downstairs, I would advise to steer clear. The food is a limited version of what’s available in the main restaurant, and our dishes showed up not as described on the menu and we left still feeling hungry. The only thing that let our holiday down was the entertainment. The animation team were great, but it was the same activities every day. They varied them up where they could but it was a bit disappointing. As we got to know them, they explained there was a reduced schedule due to being out of season. That’s fair enough, but the hotel was full so it didn’t really make sense. The evening entertainment was really poor during our stay, I don’t know if that was because of it being the end of the season or if that’s what it’s like all the time. I would stay here again, if you just want to relax for a week not go anywhere and exist in a bubble it’s great. Obzor town is nearby, it’s a nice walk with a couple of things to see but not much there. Sunny beach is a 50 minute taxi/bus ride away, so if you’re planning on visiting there this might feel a bit isolated.
