The Occidental Lodge

My sister and I stayed 3 nights at this lovely rustic lodge the week before Memorial Day, and we couldn't have been more satisfied. The first two nights we stayed in a suite and we decided to stay another night, but the suite was booked for that night, so we moved to a double queen room. I interacted multiple times with different staff members, and each person was friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as pleasant as possible. The rooms were spotless, the beds were very comfortable, and the amenities were perfect. The area surrounding the facility is breathtakingly beautiful. Driving down Bohemian Hwy provided STUNNING views, and the drive to the Sonoma beaches was maybe 45 minutes; we enjoyed every minute of it. Perfect location for us.. a bit off the beaten track, a small town, and conveniently close to points of interest. We stayed right at the tail end of "off season," and checked in on a Tuesday, so some businesses were not open yet, but I did my homework beforehand so we were prepared for this. Highly recommended accommodations! Hoping to visit again soon!

Nice escape in the woods Comfortable, not a luxury hotel, but good for a family getaway to the woods and Russian River. Check-in was easy and the staff are very pleasant. Pool was clean, my kid enjoyed it the two days we stayed. Easy to get to Monte Rio/Guerneville/Bodega Bay. A few restaurants within a block radius (town is only a few blocks long!), recommend Howard’s Station Cafe for breakfast, and Joe’s Bar/Negri’s restaurant (same place) for dinner.

The couch was extremely uncomfortable and the noise between rooms made sleeping almost impossible. The room was updated and very clean. The location is excellent.
