During our stay, we experienced several issues with our room and with hotel procedures. The television did not display a clear picture. The door lock was not functioning, which prevented us from securing the room fully. When we requested fresh towels, a staff member entered the room without knocking, even though the “Do Not Disturb” sign was displayed. This occurred while my wife was coming out of the bathroom. Staff also entered the room again while we were away, without our permission, and it was clear that someone had been inside. The bathroom required maintenance. One shower tile had visible mold around the grout, and part of the floor tile was missing grout. We extended our stay by one day. We were informed that the only way to keep our room was to provide a new deposit in cash. The original deposit on my card was canceled, and cash was required instead of using the same card or another card. If I had not had $200 in cash, we would have needed to check out at 11 a.m. and return at 3 p.m. for a different room. I requested to speak with the manager several times over two days but did not receive a call. I also requested a call after checking out and did not receive one. During check‑in, when the manager saw my Marriott card, she mentioned that the new Marriott down the road was very nice and might be a better option. Because of these experiences, I do not plan to stay at this hotel again and cannot recommend it to others.
