The View Campground

Die Übernachtung in den Rim Cabins ist mit nichts zu tippen. Alleine der Sonnenaufgang und der Sonnenuntergang sind es wert. Cabins zweckmäßig eingerichtet mit eigenem Bad. Sauberkeit lässt nichts zu Wünschen übrig. Für zwei Personen ideal, mit Familie wäre es mir zu eng.

I loved our time at Monument Valley. We came a few years ago, but for various reasons the trip was rather rushed, so I have always wanted to come back, to have more of a chance to drink in the atmosphere and the view. Our cabin was fine, very clean and comfortable, and because we were on the end we weren't overlooked. I loved sitting out on our veranda with a coffee, taking in the view. The road up to the cabins was full of potholes, probably made worse because it had rained the previous day. We were given a breakfast voucher and a shop voucher, which they said was to compensate for the ongoing work. We had dinner at the restaurant which was tasty, but very small portions, and they didn't serve pudding. Breakfast was very crowded with a massive queue when we arrived. It was badly set out, because everyone had to queue in the same place irrespective of what they wanted.

The campground is a gravel parking lot with no shade and no water. Not much better than boondocking. Don’t camp here. Not allowed to drive around after 5pm. Only tour groups can do the loop. All you will be able to do is sit in the hot sun at your campsite. This place is a total rip off!!

Una notte qua vale tutto il viaggio ... o quasi ! Abbiamo soggiornato una notte durante il nostro OTR, prenotato una cabin in seconda fila. La spettacolarità della Monument Valley con la neve è stata una cosa che ha reso ancor più magico il tutto. La cabin più che sufficiente per due persone, attrezzatissima con forno a microonde, bollitore, bagno piccolino ma molto funzionale. Diciamo che dormire qua durante una fantastica bufera di neve che si è scatenata di notte è stata veramente un'esperienza mistica, ad un certo punto avevo paura di fare la fine della casa di up ma per fortuna tutto è andato per il meglio ! La spesa per questa sistemazione non è propriamente economica ma la vista è impagabile, oltretutto nella cifra del pernottamento era prevista la colazione, abbastanza varia ed abbondante ed un buono spesa da poter utilizzare nel loro store ma solo per prodotti artigianali confezionati dagli indiani, io ho scelto un bellissmo acchiappasogni ! Altra cosa da non tralasciare, nel corpo centrale della stuttura, vi è un ristorante (dove si fa la colazione) che propone anche piatti da asporto se qualcuno volesse cenare in camera. Unica pecca, ma non per colpa di nessuno, causa tempo brutto il cielo era completamente coperto ... sigh !

Ho soggiornato in una delle Valley Rim Premium Viewd, le Casette (Cabin) in prima fila dalla quale si godeva di una vista spettacolare La camera era comoda anche se per 4 persone un po piccolina, ma gli spazi sono ben distribuiti e diventa ideale per 2 persone. I letti sono comodi, la pulizia buona e la veranda di fronte ai butte vale da sola la spesa. La cena pensavo fosse più cara, non abbiamo speso 30$ a testa ed è stata di nostro gradimento. La colazione, come la cena, viene servita in albergo ed è stata coerente con le attese, una scelta non molto varia ma comunque abbondate. Il personale non è il massimo della simpatia.

We drove almost 500 miles from Vegas, and a year of planning, to find a dirty, musty cabin, with filthy beds with what looked like inground blood and urine stains on every bedsheet, totally unwashed. The blankets on top were not washed either, nor could they hide what we found underneath them. We had reserved an Executive Valley Rim Cabin, we were given number 4. The lady was very nice, professional and offered us another cabin but after reserving what we thought was a top cabin i asked if that one was of that calibre, would another be the opposite? By that time, we were so disgusted, even the monuments at sunset could not compensate us. I literally cried, my husband was so annoyed. He then had to drive almost another 100 miles back to Tuba City for a hotel, as Kayenta was full. At around $400 per night, they need to clean up their act and clean up their cabins. We were devastated and disgusted!! The cabins are very close together, and the area is naturally strewn with photographers, understandably wanting to capture the sunset. We hope to go back to Monument Valley one day, but only in a clean RV, there was a lot there and they had lots of space, The View need to renovate or do some proper cleaning and washing! I hate leaving bad reviews but this was a must.
