Opunake Beach Holiday Park

Very expensive 396 for 2 nights, no fan extractor in bathroom,,,ordinary 3 point plug in bathroom...

We had a one night stay here, and opted for a one-bedroom portable. Small, yes, but everything was designed to be utilitarian and worked. A pleasant front porch, to sit and watch the sunset and watch the surf, was much appreciated. It’s not fancy but it’s very good for a camping option (for someone not actually camping) and the location can’t be beat.

Great spot, however kitchen was filthy, 8 out of 12 elements on the cook tops "not working" few elements on the evens not working the 2 toasters were absolutely flogged out, outside dinning table needed a good clean along with the bbq's come on Opunake Camp lift your game I won't be returning

We booked a cabin that sleeps five for two nights. The owner/s were lovely. Very friendly and easy to deal with. The campground itself is fantastic - the bathrooms are very clean with everything you need. Great shared kitchen facility and plenty of picnic tables and a small lounge. Great playground for the kids and location to the beach is just brilliant! Unfortunately, we all (well, four of five of us) found the mattresses/beds far too uncomfortable and as a result were not able to sleep and got up in the morning feeling sore. We made the joint decision to forfeit our second night. If you like campgrounds/camping/cabins - I DO recommend. But if you are wanting comfort then probably not. (Do comfort and camping ever go together though??)
