Buxa Farm Chalets

Fantastic holiday let, had everything you could possibly need and a beautiful setting. Communication with the host was excellent and there to greet us when we arrived.

We've stayed at Buxa Farm Chalets many times over the years. We keep coming back because the accommodation is so well organised, immaculately cared for and with outstanding views. Kathy the owner is very informative and helpful with any questions or help you might need. The beds are comfy, the chalets are very well equipped and with their newly revamped kitchens and bathrooms, look even better than before. Additional nice touches include the spacious lobby entrance - ideal for keeping out the weather and for removing boots and waterproofs - the communal washing and drying facilities, and the children's play equipment in the extensive grounds. With stunning views directly across the water to Hoy, a flow of small boats heading backwards and forwards as the tide changes, flocks of seabirds and sunsets over Stromness, it's tempting to spend all your time just staring out the window! But if you want to sample more of Orkney's delights, the Buxa Farm Chalets are a great location with easy access to Stromness, Kirkwall and the big archaeological sites (Ness of Brodgar, Ring of Brodgar, Maes Howe, Scara Brae etc). Houton is just down the road for the ferry to Hoy, and just a little further is the prettiest beach in Orkney at Waulkmill.

A truly magical location - the grounds and shoreline are a treat and the views over to Hoy are stunning. Chalets are super comfortable and so quiet. Add to that the wildlife and the care that has been taken with the decor and the environment and you are guaranteed a memorable stay. Highly recommended.

On arrival we received a lovely warm welcome from our host who showed us around property. Buxa farmhouse is a home from home. Well equipped with everything required for your stay. Beds super comfy. Spectacular views. Hoy hills, Scapa Flow, Stromness and surrounding area. Friends have booked to go back in September 2025.

Excellent accommodation with exceptional facilities and high level of comfort. The location is wonderful with amazing views out over the sea to the island of Hoy. The hosts are very welcoming and friendly and provide a high level of service.
