Waldorf Astoria Osaka

I booked a King Deluxe room as a diamond member. A couple days before check in I was upgraded to a King Corner Suite. The finest upgrade I’ve ever received!! This was already proving to be an amazing stay before check in even began. The room itself was simply fantastic. I was beyond thrilled to be on floor 38, the top floor. The room was spacious, clean, attractively designed, and featured a splendid view of Osaka Station and the southwestern area. Evening turn down service was always performed perfectly and set the mood for a relaxing and intimate evening. Most of the room can be controlled via tablet and while the WiFi temporarily cut out the tablet room controls one day, it was settled later in the day and was a minor issue. I really appreciated the floor-to-ceiling windows surrounding the bedroom and I would fall asleep to the city view every night. The hotel itself is also amazing. Spacious halls with an attractive lobby and ample staff everywhere. I rarely was able to approach an elevator without someone attempting to get it for me. The hotel is located in the new southern portion of Grand Green Osaka. The easiest path for me, when approaching from Osaka Station, is to follow the signs to the Umekita Underground Exit and head towards Exit 2 however do not take that exit and keep right towards the illuminated Grand Green Osaka sign. You can either take the escalator there to ground level and continue or remain underground while following the signs to the Waldorf Astoria Osaka. I have included a picture of this underground entrance which spares you the bother of crossing streets or navigating overpasses. The hotel is basically right next to Osaka Station with the subway Umeda Station right next to that so it’s a simple process to access the rest of Osaka from there. I enjoyed daily breakfast at Jolie Brasserie on the lobby level. Breakfast consists of a menu with western and Japanese options in combination with a buffet. The western options tended to be savory egg dishes such as Eggs Benedict or omelettes as well as sweet options such as waffles, pancakes, or French toast. The Japanese options were usual Japanese set trays such as grilled fish with rice, vegetables, miso soup, and various local or seasonal side dishes. The buffet had a decent amount of offerings including breads, fruit, yogurt, salad, soup, etc. however the Conrad Osaka still has the title for the most luxurious selection for their breakfast buffet. I also checked out the bar Peacock Alley which can be accessed from the lobby level. As expected of the Waldorf Astoria, they had the usual Rob Roy as well as a local variation using Japanese alcohol and flavors. Diamond members enjoy 2 drink per night tickets due to the lack of an executive lounge. I’m glad to see the Waldorf Astoria brand finally come to Japan and was happy to stay near opening. ラグジュアリーホテルの中でもトップクラスと評判のウォルドーフアストリア。残念ながら、非常に自己主張の強いホテルという印象で自分にはちょっと合わなかった。 　サービスの不備などがあり、スタッフに伝えても、ゲストの声を真摯に聞くことができるスタッフは限定的。自分たちのホテルはこうですというような、自信のあるところは強調するものの、都合の悪いところを認めて改善するという姿勢は感じられない。 　また、ゲストの希望が叶わない時に代替案を考えるという感じではなく、あっさりとダメなものはダメと、そういうところは、ヒルトンらしい。 　さらに、ホテルのミスと思われることがあっても、それをリカバリーしようという姿勢があまり感じられない。 　ラグジュアリーホテルとして、優雅さを強調する割には、チェックインはおしぼりやドリンクも提供されないし、立ったままの手続きであった。朝食は、味は美味しいものの、テーブルが狭く、隣との間隔も狭い。ラグジュアリーホテルだからこそ、ゆとりあるスペースを確保してほしい。オーダーメニューも、このメニューの中から一品のみとか、別に何品も食べたいわけではないが、*料理とパンケーキを少し食べたいとかいうような希望は聞いてくれないし、このクラスでもオレンジジュースはフレッシュではないし、パンのサイズは小さいし、細かいところでコストを抑えている印象。 　ハードはとても良いものの、サービスは、やはり、良くも悪くも、全世界共通のヒルトンなのかも。ただ、他のヒルトンの方がもう少し、ホスピタリティは高いかも。 　いずれにしても、人によって合う合わないがあるホテルだと思う。

I stayed at this Recently Opened Waldorf Astoria Osaka with my husband for several nights. Below is my review about this Hotel. Pros: Exceptional Service and Outstanding Staff The service is on a whole different level compared to typical hotels. The staff are incredibly kind and professional, creating a welcoming and cheerful atmosphere for every guest. It was even more hospitable than any other Waldorf Astoria I've experienced before. Impeccable Cleanliness, True to Japanese Standards Every facility, including the rooms, is spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Ideal Location for Shopping Located right in the heart of Umeda, it offers unmatched convenience for shopping, including duty-free options. Perfect for Transportation Situated right next to Osaka Station, it’s very convenient for traveling to nearby cities like Kyoto. Top-Class Facilities True to the Waldorf Astoria brand, the facilities are first-class. Even the standard rooms are more spacious than expected, making extended stays very comfortable. Exquisite Dining The quality of the food is exceptionally high. Member Benefits Hilton Diamond and Gold members enjoy perks such as F&B discounts and room upgrades. Cons: As of now, none to mention. Conclusion: This was our 8th stay at a Waldorf Astoria, and without a doubt, it offered the best service and the most cheerful atmosphere. If you want to experience Japan at its finest, Waldorf Astoria Osaka is the perfect choice. Especially if you enjoy interacting with hotel staff and value a warm, engaging stay, I highly recommend the Waldorf Astoria Osaka.

I had a very bad experience at the hotel today. The room of the newly opened hotel smelled very bad. I asked the staff to send an air freshener to the room at 3pm. I wandered around outside for 3 and a half hours, thinking that there would be no strong smell after returning to the hotel. When I returned, I found that the air freshener was not delivered to the room. The night turndown service was even more ridiculous. They just made the bed, neither took out the garbage nor cleaned the coffee cups nor replenished the drinking water. The slippers were placed at the door of the room instead of by the bed. I went downstairs and communicated with the hotel staff and became even angrier. This hotel really redefines the definition of luxury hotels.
